24.01.2022 The coaching staff at OTC would like to wish you and your family a very happy & safe Easter. While this year’s Easter break may not be filled with camping, tenn...is tournaments, road trips or even family functions it’s important that we all stay home and share the day with our immediate family. The Easter Bunny is thankfully immune to this horrible virus so Easter eggs are plentiful... be grateful for the small things. Be thankful that we are all in this together, you are not alone, and we will get through this with our fun, sociable, tennis lifestyle resuming at some stage. Our coaching programs are still on hold but we are ready to go as soon as we are permitted back on the courts... in the meantime please stay fit, healthy and try and keep up some tennis skills at home. My Mother taught me that if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at a...ll and my Father taught me that if you are angry or frustrated then it’s best not to put anything in writing. 21.01.2022 Tennis update... As restrictions are gradually eased over the next month it is hoped I will be able to provide private and semi-private tennis lessons at Garfield Tennis Club starting Wednesday September the 30th. Confirmation from Tennis Victoria and Cardinia Shire is required before the courts can be reopened. Our famous junior group lessons will resume at some stage in term 4 once permitted by the State Government. A start date is dependant upon COVID-19 case numbers (14 d...ay average) so at this early stage a start date for the Wednesday group lesson program cannot be confirmed. I’m also hoping to be able to start an Adult Cardio Tennis program later in the year. Stay safe everyone and please look out for further updates via FB and email. Ossie

20.01.2022 WE ARE BACK!!! After the State Government announced the further easing of restrictions yesterday we are now permitted to start junior group lessons, adult Cardio Tennis and adult Cardio Play sessions from next Wednesday November the 4th Program details are as follows...... 30min Hotshots for kinder aged children. Time slots available are 2.30-3.00pm and 3.00-3.30pm. $14 per lesson. 7 lessons in term 4 and 7 lessons next year. 45min Hotshots for primary school aged children: Time slots are 3.45-4.30pm, 4.30-5.15pm and 5.15-6.00pm. $18 per lesson. 7 lessons in term 4 and 7 lessons next year. 45min junior group for intermediate standard players: Time slot is 5.15-6.00pm. $18 per lesson. 7 lessons in term 4 and 7 lessons next year. Private lessons: Time slots are 6.00-6.45pm and 6.45-7.30pm. $60 per lesson. Cardio Tennis: Wednesday mornings. Exact time TBA. Designed for beginners who are looking for some fun and fitness on the tennis court. Sessions are designed to suit all fitness levels with music pumping. Minimum of 5 and maximum of 8 participants. Cost is $90 for 6 x 60min sessions. Cardio Play: Wednesday mornings. Exact time TBA. Designed for intermediate players who are looking for some fun, fitness and competition on the tennis court. Sessions are designed to suit all fitness levels with music pumping. Minimum of 5 and maximum of 6 participants. Cost is $90 for 6 x 60min sessions. For all programs a commitment is required although there may be some casual vacancies available in the adult programs (if vacancies exist). You can form your own group for the adult programs just let me know preferred time for Wednesday morning and I shall make it happen. 17.01.2022 This evening on SEN’s The First Serve radio program TVs CEO indicated that their guidelines would be released to clubs and coaches via email first thing tomorrow. Details as follows... Max of 10 people at the venue (not including coaches) Singles and doubles permitted but only from up to 2 households.... This has huge implications for our programs with only private lessons, semi-private lessons and family lessons bring permitted to start this Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately Hotshots, junior groups, and cardio tennis will remain on hold for a few more weeks at Garfield Tennis Club

After a sensational 9 weeks of coaching since restrictions were lifted we can finally declare term 4 done and dusted. #whataride I’d l...ike to pay FB tribute to a number of important groups who have helped make term 4 one of the best ever... Thanks to the Pakenham TC Executive who worked tirelessly in order for the courts to be reopened as quickly as possible after lockdown. #Respect Thanks to my coaching staff who have been nothing short of brilliant this term working well as a team and striving to improve the skills of both our pupils and their own coaching skills. #teamwork Thanks to my family (Emma Osborne)who had to put up with me during 17 weeks of lockdown earlier in the year and then a further 9 weeks of long hours and late nights. 15.01.2022 It was a great morning on the courts for our section 2 junior team of Sheri, Kade & Harvey who competed in round 1 of WGTA summer comp against Maryknoll (Tristan, Spencer & Mitch). Thanks to the Maryknoll boys and parents for a great morning. Well done to the Garfield Stars on a fantastic win.... Bring on round 2!!!

07.01.2022 With restrictions likely to be eased on Sunday we are hopeful of a return to the tennis courts for our various Summer tennis programs as early as next Wednesday October the 21st. At this stage it’s unsure whether all programs can take place as it will depend on numbers permitted on each court but I’m hoping to run the following programs each Wednesday... Private lessons... Semi-private lessons Hotshots lessons (small groups with modified equipment) Junior group lessons Cardio Tennis (during school hours) The numbers today look promising so fingers are cross for some positive announcements by the state government this Sunday I shall post another update on Sunday afternoon and email all 2019-20 families with further information once confirmed. #tenniswillsurvive

There are five challenges in total with one released daily fro...m Monday 31 August until Friday 4 September. The Virtual Tennis Challenge runs until Sunday 20 September. Tennis Victoria has kindly donated 30 Australian Open towels as prizes to be awarded for both participation and performance. Today's Virtual Tennis Challenge is "Sally's Rally". 03.01.2022 Tennis lessons return tomorrow (Oct 21st) at the Garfield Tennis Club and the courts are now open for public use (see restrictions below). Due to restrictions limiting the number of individuals at the venue only private lessons, semi-private lessons and family lessons can take place at this stage. Booking for these programs are now being taken via email: [email protected] or phone: 0413594633 Hopefully Hotshots, junior groups and Cardio Tennis can resume next month.... The courts are now open for use by the general public at no cost but please ensure the following rules are adhered to... No more than 10 people at venue at any one time Only players from 1 or 2 households can be on a particular court at once The courts are not available to the general public on a Wednesday between 3.00-8.00pm Social distancing rules must be adhered to Masks must be worn by individuals 12+ years to and from the courts but are not required during play Get in, play, get our policy applies at all times
