24.01.2022 New to Osteopathy? Wondering what you could expect at your first consultation? During your initial consultation, I’ll spend about an hour with you. We’ll discuss your symptoms and also your background, medical history, general health and lifestyle to see how these factors may be contributing to your specific complaint. I’ll look at how your body moves and where you might be experiencing restrictions or weakness to help identify the underlying cause of your issue. ... I’ll develop a treatment plan for you and then utilise a range of hands on therapy techniques including soft tissue work (like massage), joint mobilisation, stretching and adjustments to help you feel better. Because I’m keen to give you as much advice and understanding as possible I welcome your questions and feedback throughout your consultation. Before you go, we’ll talk about what you can do yourself to continue to improve and I’ll prescribe you exercises/stretching that you can do at home. Generally I’ll check in on you a couple of days after your appointment but I pride myself on being accessible to my clients, so you can reach out to me at anytime. See more
