23.01.2022 Here is the sign we had planned to display out the front of St Aidans to let all our wonderful dads, uncles and significant men in our lives know that they are loved and valued. Unfortunately the wind decided the sign needed displaying in Antarctica and destroyed it trying to untie it from the railing! So no sign but we do wish those wonderful men in our lives a very happy Fathers Day. God bless.
23.01.2022 God of love and liberty, We bring our thanks today for the peace and security we enjoy. We remember those who in time of war faithfully served our country. We pray for their families, And for ourselves whose freedom was won at such a cost.... Make us a people zealous for peace, And hasten the day when nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither learn war anymore. This we pray in the name of the one who gave his life for the sake of the world: Jesus Christ, our redeemed. Amen. See more
23.01.2022 Yesterday the Bishop sent out correspondence to all dNews recipients informing them that given the current COVID-19 restraints in certain shires within our Dioc...ese he has asked the parishes/parochial districts of Woady Yaloak, Colac, The Otways and West Moorabool to discontinue face to face Church Services for the next three weeks... full text below. [START] Dear Colleagues in Ministry, Since yesterdays dNews, the Premier has announced the tightening of some restrictions in order to try and stop the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria. In Moorabool, Colac Otway, and Golden Plains Shires, all residents are required to refrain from visiting other persons in their homes. I think it is best that we should cease conducting public worship in churches within these shires at this time. This will affect the parishes of Colac, The Otways, Woady Yaloak, and West Moorabool. This matter will be reviewed in three weeks time. I hope that parish priests in these areas will continue to provide some worship opportunities for the people they serve. Yesterdays dNews had a new range of Table Services for use in the Home during the COVID-19 era. My sermon is still available each week and many of you have already developed good skills in remote worship. Please reignite the passion! For the rest of the State, masks or facial coverings will be required whenever you are outside your home or workplace. We have a small supply of disposable masks at the Registry, but I hope that many of you will already have cloth masks. The internet has many patterns for competent sewers and there were some links supplied in the dNews of 22 July. I hope that the other churches in our Diocese will continue to offer face to face worship, but parishioners should feel under no obligation to attend the Eucharist if they are anxious, vulnerable or unwell. Remember the Gospel is meant to be LIFE GIVING. Please continue to pray for our Premier as he leads in these difficult times, and we pray and give thanks for those on the front line doctors and nurses, paramedics and cleaners. With all good wishes and blessings, + Garry Weatherill Anglican Bishop of Ballarat [END]
