This is whats doing the rounds. ...The scam: - Uses a tactic known as sextortion a form of online blackmail -Threatens to reveal intimate images online, often to friends and family, unless a ransom is quickly paid (often in cryptocurrency) - Typically they dont actually have the intimate images - Claims to have compromised a computer, or other electronic device, and include either a password or partial password the recipient has used in the past. What to do: - If you receive one of these emails, DO NOT give the perpetrator any money or images - Delete the email and DO NOT respond - If a blackmailer is threatening to reveal intimate images of you online, DO NOT give in to their demands.
