15.01.2022 She did it guys! #EmilyCrockford is an Archibald Prize FINALIST!! We are SO excited and proud of Emily, the Archibald's very first Studio A artist! ... Titled ‘Self Portrait with Daddy in the Daisies watching the field of Planes’, the painting features Emily's trademark, intricate patterns and vibrates with pinks and greens, illustrating shared memories of her wonderful father John Crockford who passed away in January this year. I made myself a ‘selfie’ with memories of my dad. Because we are the best father and the best daughter, said Emily. "It’s my dream come true. It’s my dream of my Daddy. I watched him flying his beautiful planes in the fields. He made amazing models. This painting is very special to me, because he’s my lovely father." 10.01.2022 I've been meaning to post this one for a while. I believe many parents experience this, but those of us with (sensory avoiding) Sensory Processing Disorder expe...rience it with an exaggerated intensity. If you're like me, you are extremely hard on yourself when you have these reactions. Be kind to yourself when this happens, but also try to minimize your fight response as much as possible (lashing out). Personally, I find that the flight response is the least harmful to those around me. I make sure the kids are safe and step away... take some breaths... and try to slow down my heart rate before going back to the triggering situation.
