25.01.2022 I’m undergoing accreditation to join a growing number of my colleagues as a Neuroprotective Developmental Care practitioner (NDC), more widely known as ‘The Possum Program for Parents and Babies’. As a group of health and allied health professionals who work with growing families we feel strongly that these families need much better access NOW to the type of information and support that will hopefully be mainstream in years to come. Access that will allow the many families st...ruggling with sleep, feeding, infant cry/fuss and parental mood concerns a choice in how to address them. The evidence is clear and growing, a trusted alternative approach (Possums) has significantly eased these struggles for many already. We want to see the struggle eased for all. 20.01.2022 Wrapping and sending copies of my little book baby is now one of my favorite pastimes, I was overjoyed by the amount of orders that came through last week, on one day I received 7 separate orders for a total of 14 books- my biggest day yet! Check out her most recent post about the preoccupation with separating mothers and babies in the name of ‘self care’. (Link to Sophie’s post in comments) I always like to say ‘self care doesn’t have to be by self’. Feeling connected to others is part of self care too, what are/were some of the things you are doing/did for self care with your baby? Contact napping would have to be right up there for me! I am your first teacher when it comes to trusting in a safe and secure bond leading to many more throughout your life. Our curriculum is deceptively simple, yet infinitely effective. Lots of holding you close, nourishing you tenderly, talking, to...uching, and eye gazing. We do not need any special gadgets , only one another, our brains are wired for this learning. This is a lesson we need not fear of failing, if we let our love for each other guide the way. Page 80 the snake plant may not be the fanciest of plants, it is however one of the hardiest and has incredible air purification abilities, making it a terrific house plant.
