23.01.2022 Pope’s Missio WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, 2020 It is not the time of Your judgement, but of our judgement: a time to choose what matters and what passes away, a time to separate what is necessary from what is not. It is a time to get our lives back on track with regard to You, Lord, and to others. ... Pope Francis See more

23.01.2022 Trouble sleeping? Then try St Augustine’s bedtime prayer tonight. Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch or weep tonight, ... and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend your sick ones, O Lord Jesus Christ; rest your weary ones; bless your dying ones; soothe your suffering ones; pity your afflicted ones; shield your joyous ones; and all for your love's sake. Amen.

16.01.2022 Wednesday 15th July, 10.00am, we are doing Rosary for anyone who wishes to join. Have a good weekend.

16.01.2022 This idea and invitation is being circulated through various communities via Facebook. This Sunday 5 April 2020 is Palm Sunday for many churches. Since places of worship are closed you are invited to join in on something a bit different. If you have access to palm tree (or any green branch), cut a frond or branch and tie it to your fence or front door and leave it there for Holy Week so that, despite the social distancing, we can be connected as we enter into this Holiest of Weeks. We may be physically isolated, but not separated. We are united as the body of Christ. Let’s proclaim Hosanna in the highest loud and strong. We thank those who have developed and distributed this very worthwhile concept.

14.01.2022 Good afternoon. On Sunday the 6th Of December, Mass will be held at 11.30am to commemorate ‘Our Lady Of Lourdes’ 90th birthday. This is a very special occasion for our church and parishioners. Traudi Krampl is going to write up a booklet about the church and the parishioners, past and present. If each family could write a little story about an occasion/s they held at the church such as christenings, weddings, nativity plays etc and any photos, this would be great. If you could email Traudi at [email protected] by the 21st November, this would be appreciated. Please share this with past and retired parishioners. Please phone 0428 680 495 for COVID purposes. Thank you.

13.01.2022 Pope’s Missio WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8, 2020 Let us try, if we can, to make the best use of this time: let us be generous; let us help those in need in our neighborhood; let us look out for the loneliest people, perhaps by telephone or social networks; let us pray to the Lord for those who are in difficulty in Italy and in the world. Even if we are isolated, thought and spirit can go far with the creativity of love. This is what we need today: the creativity of love. This is what... is needed today: the creativity of love. Pope Francis

11.01.2022 Pope’s Missio SUNDAY, APRIL 5, 2020 Our Lady never asked anything for herself never. Yes, She did for others. We think of Cana, when She goes to speak to Jesus. She never said: ‘I am the Mother; look at me, I will be the Queen Mother.’ She never said it. She doesn’t ask for something important for herself She only accepts to be Mother. She accompanied Jesus as a disciple, because the Gospel makes it seen that She followed Jesus with friends, pious women, She followed Jes...us; She listened to Jesus. We must honor Our Lady and say: ‘This is my Mother,’ because She is Mother. And this is the title She received from Jesus, precisely there, in the moment of the cross (Cf. John 19:26-27). Our Lady did not take any title from Jesus. She received the gift of being Mother to Him and the duty to accompany us as Mother, to be our Mother. And so, as Mother we must think of Her, we must seek Her; we must pray to Her. She is the Mother in the Mother Church. In Our Lady’s maternity we see the maternity of the Church, that receives all, good and evil all. It will do us good today to pause a while and to think of the pain and the sorrows of Our Lady. She is our Mother. And She brought good there, with strength, with weeping. Pope Francis See more

11.01.2022 Traudi has thus far only received 5 stories with photos. Please create your little story with a few photos and email to Traudi at [email protected] Thank you.

10.01.2022 Pope’s Missio THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 2020 ~ HOLY THURSDAY We will celebrate Holy Week in a truly unusual way, which manifests and sums up the message of the Gospel, that of God’s boundless love. And in the silence of our cities, the Easter Gospel will resound. The Apostle Paul says: And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him Who died for them and was raised again (2 Cor 5:15). In the risen Jesus, life conquered death. This Pasc...hal faith nourishes our hope. It is the hope of a better time, in which we can be better, finally freed from evil and from this pandemic. It is a hope: hope does not disappoint; it is not an illusion, it is a hope. Pope Francis

09.01.2022 Pope’s Missio MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2020 This prayer, a Spiritual Communion, attributed to Servant of God Rafael Merry del Val... At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself and I offer Thee repentance of my contrite heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist. I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling that my heart offers Thee. While waiting for the happiness of sacramental communion, I wish to possess Thee in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part, am coming to Thee! May Thy love embrace my whole being in life and in death. I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen. Pope Francis See more

09.01.2022 Pope's Missio TUESDAY, APRIL 7, 2020 If you allow me, I would like to have a conversation with you for a few moments, in this time of difficulty and of suffering. I can imagine you in your families, living an unusual life to avoid contagion. I am thinking of the liveliness of children and young people, who cannot go out, attend school, live their lives. I have in my heart all the families, especially those who have a loved one who is sick or who have unfortunately experience...d mourning due to the coronavirus or other causes. These days I often think about people who are alone, and for whom it is more difficult to face these moments. Above all, I think of the elderly, who are very dear to me. It is a difficult time for everyone. For many, very difficult. The Pope knows this and, with these words, he wants to tell everyone of his closeness and affection. Pope Francis

09.01.2022 Cecil Plains Mass will be held on Sunday 1st November 2020, 7.30am. Covid rules will apply. Look forward to seeing you all.

07.01.2022 Pope’s Missio MONDAY, APRIL 6, 2020 It is the life in the Spirit that can redeem, value and demonstrate how our lives are woven together and sustained by ordinary people often forgotten people who do not appear in newspaper and magazine headlines nor on the grand catwalks of the latest show, but who without any doubt are in these very days writing the decisive events of our time: doctors, nurses, supermarket employees, cleaners, caregivers, providers of transport, law a...nd order forces, volunteers, priests, religious men and women and so very many others who have understood that no one reaches salvation by themselves. In the face of so much suffering, where the authentic development of our peoples is assessed, we experience the priestly prayer of Jesus: ‘That they may all be one’ (Jn 17:21). How many people every day are exercising patience and offering hope, taking care to sow not panic but a shared responsibility. How many fathers, mothers, grandparents and teachers are showing our children, in small everyday gestures, how to face up to and navigate a crisis by adjusting their routines, lifting their gaze and fostering prayer. How many are praying, offering and interceding for the good of all. Prayer and quiet service: these are our victorious weapons. Pope Francis

07.01.2022 We've updated the diocesan website with the status of parishes' COVIDSafe plans as well as details that might be available regarding Mass, Reconciliation, etc. ...https://www.twb.catholic.org.au/parishes/ Please contact your local church if you have any questions. Any services offered are subject to the active Government restrictions in QLD. At this time, some churches have opted to remain closed. We ask that people respect this decision, it is in the best interest of the community. Some have opted for further lessening of restrictions in order to open, others are still working on the logistics of reopening (cleaning, contact tracing records, and so on). We continue to pray for everyone effected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Sunday Mass will also continue to be live streamed from St Patrick's Cathedral here, YouTube and the diocesan website. See more

04.01.2022 Pope’s Missio FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2020 ~ GOOD FRIDAY Why did all this take place? Once again, it was done for our sake, to serve us. So that when we have our back to the wall, when we find ourselves at a dead end, with no light and no way of escape, when it seems that God Himself is not responding, we should remember that we are not alone. Jesus experienced total abandonment in a situation He had never before experienced in order to be one with us in everything. He did it fo...r me, for you, for all of us; He did it to say to us: ‘Do not be afraid, you are not alone. I experienced all your desolation in order to be ever close to you.’ That is the extent to which Jesus served us: He descended into the abyss of our most bitter sufferings, culminating in betrayal and abandonment. Today, in the tragedy of a pandemic, in the face of the many false securities that have now crumbled, in the face of so many hopes betrayed, in the sense of abandonment that weighs upon our hearts, Jesus says to each one of us: ‘Courage, open your heart to my love. You will feel the consolation of God who sustains you.’ Pope Francis

01.01.2022 As numbers of COVID cases in Victoria continue to drop, I am feeling hopeful about the possibility of a Sydney launch of Dear Mother Dear Father, next year. Sad...ly we had to cancel the Sydney launch earlier this year. The book is a collection of 100 letters written by John Wallis, between 1927-1949 to his family. The book is still available through Coventry Press (see bit.ly/37cbrPe) or through the Missionary Sisters of Service website (see bit.ly/2H71Crf).
