25.01.2022 Today we celebrate Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was sent down upon the Apostles. While we cannot all be together to celebrate in one place at the moment, we do so in our hearts and minds. Luke recounts the story of the first Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4. Wishing all our families a beautiful Sunday together.

24.01.2022 Term 3 begins with energy and excitement at OLOL. Our first mufti for the term was a fundraiser for school seating. The OLOL community celebrated Christmas in July and was a very fitting theme seeing it was the last day of the month. Great way to end the school week!

24.01.2022 Last week our school community donated $1,710.00 to the 2020 Vinnies Winter Appeal. Mr Michael Price represented Vinnies and our Year 6 leaders thanked him for the work he and his colleagues do. Congratulations to all our families who contributed to the OLOL Blanket of Love and made the time to write words of inspiration. You have made a difference to the lives of others."Charity is the cement which binds communities to God and persons to one another..." St Vincent de Paul.

24.01.2022 Today we celebrate the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The devotion to the Sacred Heart is one of the most widely practised and well known Catholic devotions, where in the heart of Jesus is viewed as a symbol of Gods boundless and passionate love for mankind . We wish all of our OLOL community a very special day.



23.01.2022 The cold weather has arrived ,but it has not stopped the happy learners arriving to school with a smile. Stay warm and have a great Friday everyone.

23.01.2022 OLOL ... ZOOMING into the Holidays! It was an awesome last day of term at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. K-6 classes participated in a a whole school zoom assembly. Kindergarten celebrated their 100th day at school and led the school community in prayer zooming in from their classroom. The principal Mr ONeill announced the success learning awards and the excitement soared as the students were able to see all classes together on one zoom screen.... A great last day shared together wearing mufti and fundraising for Bear Cottage. Just when we thought that our virtual assembly was over POLLY our school mascot made a zoom appearance to congratulate our learners for their perseverance this term. This years theme -In This Together- reinforces that we all have a part to play when it comes to reconciliation. Together we can build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culture and history. We all need to contribute to to the reconciliation of our Nation. At OLOL we truly believe we are IN THIS TOGETHER.

It was an opportunity for our school community in the spirit of Mary MacKillop to thank Mr ONeill our OLOL Principal for his dedicated service, courage and kindness of all. The students cheered Mr ONeill during a zoom assembly and the teachers demonstrated their hospitality during the day. Thank you for the leadership of our school Mr ONeill!

13.01.2022 Today is the feast of The Assumption. This signals the end of Marys earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be re-united with Jesus. Yesterday, year 3 students were very prayerful and reverent as they led the school in prayer. Students from K-6 wore shades of blue to support this feast day. Students and teachers were all engaged in various literacy, art and craft activities during the day.

08.01.2022 It is getting closer to the weekend when you are invited to think and pray about the homeless people all over the world. Make a card for a homeless person and attach it to a snack for the Vinnies night patrol. Make some soup or prepare a packet soup and go outside as a family. While you are outside just imagine what it would be like if you had to sleep out there. Say a prayer for all those people who have nowhere to go. 03.01.2022 The theme of Science Week 2020 is... Deep Blue: innovations for the future of our oceans. Year 6 kicked us off on Friday when they investigated the different ways we can separate materials and how these techniques can be used to support the sustainability of our oceans. Students were amazed at how hard it was to remove the oil from water.
