01.02.2022 Today, February 11, join us in prayer as we observe the World Day of the Sick. Merciful God, you care for your people ... and you desire to give us new life in the Holy Spirit. You sent Jesus your Son as Saviour of all people; He proclaimed the gospel of the Kingdom and healed those who suffered from illness and disease. We ask you to send the grace of your Son to us now, that He may bring healing and hope to all who suffer with infirmity and sickness. Send the Holy Spirit to impart that new life which comes from Jesus your Son, through the power of His death and resurrection. May the same life-giving Spirit sustain and enlighten all who care for the sick and infirm, and all who seek cures for the diseases that afflict our human condition. Through Christ, our Healer and Lord. Amen. 31.01.2022 Prayer | As we continue to reflect on Pope Francis' World Day of Peace 2022 Message, let us pray together: Lord God of peace, hear our prayer! We have tried so... many times and over so many years to resolve our conflicts by our own powers and by the force of our arms. How many moments of hostility and darkness have we experienced; how much blood has been shed; how many lives have been shattered; how many hopes have been buried But our efforts have been in vain. Now, Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace. Open our eyes and our hearts, and give us the courage to say: "Never again war!"; "With war everything is lost". Instil in our hearts the courage to take concrete steps to achieve peace. Lord, God of Abraham, God of the Prophets, God of Love, you created us and you call us to live as brothers and sisters. Give us the strength daily to be instruments of peace; enable us to see everyone who crosses our path as our brother or sister. Make us sensitive to the plea of our citizens who entreat us to turn our weapons of war into implements of peace, our trepidation into confident trust, and our quarreling into forgiveness. Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words "division", "hatred" and "war" be banished from the heart of every man and woman. Lord, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the word which always brings us together will be "brother", and our way of life will always be that of: Shalom, Peace, Salaam! Amen

21.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the men who have played an important part in our lives and who we hold close to our hearts. May Gods blessing be on you in everything you do. Music: My Old Man by Zac Brown Band

21.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

21.01.2022 May the little child we contemplate in the manger watch over all the children of the world and comfort and support all those who suffer, particularly those affected by the prolonged drought and bushfires. May all of us receive peace and consolation from the birth of the Saviour knowing that we are loved by the one heavenly Father. Wishing you every joy and blessing for Christmas and 2020.

19.01.2022 This weekend we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday. We acknowledge that God has been walking with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, making His Presence known through a continuous living culture over many thousands of years. We pray in thanksgiving for these ancient peoples who have enriched and sustained our continent over all that time. We praise God for the people who nurtured the land here in our Parish that we call home. We pray for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Peoples. That all will recognise the Creator Spirit in their culture and the cultures of all newcomers which will allow all Australians to live fully, grow strong and be proud of their heritage.

16.01.2022 Today the world joins in mourning the passing of a towering figure in the struggle for freedom and for human dignity and rights. Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who ha...s died today at the age of 90, was a key leader in the moral struggle against the apartheid system in South Africa, but the impact of his life’s ministry and witness extended far beyond the borders of his own country and beyond that historical moment. Also in the post-apartheid era, his principled commitment and engagement for justice for all remained unwavering. Tutu believed passionately that the Christian faith is inclusive of all, and that Christian responsibility is for the good of all people. His leadership strengthened us all in that belief, and continues to call us to action upon that belief. May his soul rest in Peace. May we spread joy in the hearts of those around us, this Christmas season and in the new decade we are entering.

12.01.2022 We celebrate Sea Sunday on July 12, this year themed '"Come to me all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:2...8' At this time when our seafarers have been most overlooked when they are most in need of help and comfort, consider donating to the Apostleship of the Sea Australia's Sea Sunday appeal: https://aos-australia.org/sea-sunday-appeal/ "Despite the fundamental role that seafarers play for the global economy, a role whose great significance and need organizations and institutions tried to uphold during the COVID-19 crisis, current and prevailing legislations and policies simply glanced over them. That is why Sea Sunday is an opportunity for us to revisit the role of seafarers, and to recall some of the issues that negatively affect the seafarer’s life and which are aggravated by the suspicion and fear of contamination." 08.01.2022 "We can never elude the urgent appeal that Scripture makes on behalf of the poor. Wherever we look, the word of God points to the poor, those who lack the neces...sities of life because they depend on others. They are the oppressed, the lowly and the downcast. Yet, faced with countless throngs of the poor, Jesus was not afraid to identify with each of them: Whatever you did to one of the least of these my brethren, you did to me (Mt 25:40). If we refuse to make this identification, we falsify the Gospel and water down Gods revelation." 06.01.2022 Today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Today, and in the following weeks, we ponder with gratitude and solemnity on the great mystery and hope in the... death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. "I ask Mary Most Holy to pray that our Lenten celebration will open our hearts to hear Gods call to be reconciled to himself, to fix our gaze on the paschal mystery, and to be converted to an open and sincere dialogue with him. In this way, we will become what Christ asks his disciples to be: the salt of the earth and the light of the world (cf. Mt 5:13-14)."
