23.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

22.01.2022 Please find below a statement from Most Reverend Bishop McGuckin regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and our celebrations of the Sunday Mass and Sacraments. While ...we are unable to come together for public mass it's important at this time to pray, to keep safe and to look out for one another. May all of you and your loved ones stay safe in the days, weeks and months that lie ahead. See more

21.01.2022 May the little child we contemplate in the manger watch over all the children of the world and comfort and support all those who suffer, particularly those affe...cted by the prolonged drought and bushfires. May all of us receive peace and consolation from the birth of the Saviour knowing that we are loved by the one heavenly Father. Wishing you every joy and blessing for Christmas and 2020. See more

19.01.2022 This weekend we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday. We acknowledge that God has been walking with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peo...ples, making His Presence known through a continuous living culture over many thousands of years. We pray in thanksgiving for these ancient peoples who have enriched and sustained our continent over all that time. We praise God for the people who nurtured the land here in our Parish that we call home. We pray for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Peoples. That all will recognise the Creator Spirit in their culture and the cultures of all newcomers which will allow all Australians to live fully, grow strong and be proud of their heritage. See more

14.01.2022 Christ is born! Alleluia! Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas. We thank God for all the blessings and lessons that he has given us this year. We pray for our fam...ilies, friends, and all those who give us joy. We pray that we may be guided to do what is right and good in the year to come. Lord Jesus, you came into this world to save us from sin. Even today, in our everyday lives, may we follow the example of your humility and generosity. May we spread joy in the hearts of those around us, this Christmas season and in the new decade we are entering.

13.01.2022 Today is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Today, and in the following weeks, we ponder with gratitude and solemnity on the great mystery and hope in the... death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. "I ask Mary Most Holy to pray that our Lenten celebration will open our hearts to hear God’s call to be reconciled to himself, to fix our gaze on the paschal mystery, and to be converted to an open and sincere dialogue with him. In this way, we will become what Christ asks his disciples to be: the salt of the earth and the light of the world (cf. Mt 5:13-14)." Read the message of his Holiness Pope Francis for Lent 2020 entitled "We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God" (2 Cor 5:20) http://bit.ly/2VvhSaD

11.01.2022 Trivia lunch - a wonderful initiative of the OLOL Parish. Many thanks to all involved in organising such a great event.

09.01.2022 A callout to the OLOL cohort born in 1969. Regardless of if you went on to Downlands, you are most welcome to drop by for a drink at our communal 50th Birthday celebrations! Nb - we are gathering in the Michael Collins bar (not Tara room as indicated on the invitation) There is also a Wallabies event which anyone is welcome to attend on the same evening - featuring our own Lourdes old boy Brett Robinson. For the rugby fans amongst us, am sure you’ll be delighted to know that another Lourdes old boy and current yr 12 student Mac Grealy has just been selected in the Aust schoolboys team.

08.01.2022 Wishing you peace, happiness and love in 2020.

06.01.2022 Christian Brother Damien Price says one of the images that has meant much to him in his life is the famous painting, Christ in the breadline, by Fritz Eichenber...g. The painting shows a line-up of poverty-stricken men and women waiting to enter a soup kitchen with a Christ figure complete with halo right there in the middle of them. http://bit.ly/2P8LZTG
