25.01.2022 I have been asked if being Mayor takes me out of the Great Wheelbarrow Race Committee. The GWR committee has to have a Councillor to lead it, no reason that cannot be the Mayor. So nothing will change.

20.01.2022 On Saturday morning, with Division 5 Councillor Richie Bates, I attended the official opening of the Bulmba-ja arts centre in Cairns. Centre was officially opened by the Hon Leanne Enoch MP, Minister for Environment and the Great Barrier Reef, Minister for Science and the Arts. Cairns MP Mr Healy was also on hand. Great place to show case regional indigenous arts and story telling.

19.01.2022 On Sunday 01 March 2020, with Mayoral candidate Nipper Brown and community minded Dimbulah residents, a clean up was conducted of Dimbulah township. A special thanks to Tara from the Mareeba Dimbulah Bendigo Community Bank for organising same and a shouting a coffee upon completion at Camp 64 cafe. 11.01.2022 On Saturday 29 Feb afternoon I went to the cairns show grounds with Cairns Division 5 councillor Richie Bates and joined a large gathering where they judged the... entrants and ultimately selected the Cairns Show Young Rural Ambassador. What a talented field to chose from and ultimately the winner was from Malanda and the 2 runners up were from Tully. I am pictured here with young MAREEBA high school student entrant Layne Cureton. 10.01.2022 Our Team 4 Your Shire, Council candidates out and about on the newly formed and sealed section of the Chillagoe Road. We will be lobbying State and Federal Governments to commit to completing the remaining 10 kilometres of gravel sections of this road to a sealed standard.
