08.01.2022 Meet Katrina Katrina is one of our lovely Support Workers at OVOC and she is doing something pretty incredible this Friday. After over 6 years of growing her dreadlocks she will be shaving them off for a great cause. Katrina’s dreadlocks have been on some big adventures with her around the world and they have become a part of her identity, so this is no small feat. Katrina is doing this to raise awareness and money for a cause that is close to her heart, The Black Dog Insti...tute. They are the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, their aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone. Today their focus has expanded to address new challenges and opportunities in mental health suicide prevention, digital innovation, lived experience, youth and workplace mental health. 07.01.2022 Did you know that here at OVOC, we have a Farm?Our Farm is a multi-residence block that offers space and versatility set on 48 acres of land. It is privately placed and enjoys a stunning country aspect. Our residents at the farm love it there. Our Farm allows our staff many opportunities to teach our resident’s new skills in a fun and supportive environment. The Community Garden was started in June by our staff and residents and it is thriving. The garden has many different vegetables that are attended to by the team at the farm almost daily and this allows them to be able to eat fresh and live off the land cooking lessons are also a very popular activity with the farm crew. We have big plans for The Farm so stay tuned
