22.01.2022 We have a secret in our culture... and it’s not that birth is painful. It’s that women are strong! #newcastlebirthphotographer #birthstoryphotography #birthisbeautiful #motherhoodintheraw #homebirth #waterbirths #empoweredbirth #birthphotogs #birthwithoutfear #birthmatters #thebeautyinbirth #womenarestrong #justborn #bnwbirth

19.01.2022 Love sharing my birth clients birth stories/reviews! So loving what I do and this just makes the flame burn stronger. xx Bridi & Jordan’s birth story now on my blog. www.ourbirthstories.com.au... "12th November 2020 was the big day! It all started at 3am after Id spent the night at John Hunter with high blood pressure. Thankfully this was a once off thing and didn't impact my ability to birth at home with my wonderful team! This was my second time around the block, and being a midwife myself I know that MOST of the time.. second time is quicker. WELL... not the case for Mr Arlo. He kept us on our toes. My contractions got stronger but no more than 5 mins apart most of the time. About 4pm rolls by, I began to get annoyed that he wasn't here yet (haha) - my midwife did an internal exam to check progress and BAM, waters broke. He was here about 1.5 hours after that. Born into the world at 6.48pm, we held our little baby in our arms. It was all such a blur in the end because it became very intense very quickly - that's why birth photographers are great.. they retell your story with amazing photos. We are so thankful we met Kristal and were lucky enough to have her capture the precious moments of our labour and birth of Arlo Kristal has such an easy going nature - the first time I met her, I felt instant comfort. The second time we met was on the big day and it felt like she'd been a part of our birth team the whole pregnancy. And let me tell you, she has the patience of a saint.. everyone did waiting for this little dude. For the most part, I didn't even know she was there. She was so quiet, and captured the most wonderful photos for us to look back on. We loved her so much we booked a family photo shoot a few weeks later You wont regret booking your next shoot (birthing or otherwise) with her. Thanks Kristal xox Bridi, Jordan, Adelyn & Arlo xx

17.01.2022 Lets talk birthing partners... Who did/would you have at your birth(s) and why? And knowing what you know now... who would you choose second time around? Yes it can be more than 1 person. LOL I would love to hear your birth experiences/stories.... I’ll go first... My first birth I had my husband & my mum there. So glad my mum was there though, as my daughter arrived 6wks premature & took 32 long hrs! My second birth I only had hubby there as my mum was looking after my toddler daughter. I would have had her there for that one too. I wouldn’t change who my birth partners were but both my births were completely different!

17.01.2022 Imagine if our culture told us that birth was one of the greatest things a woman might ever do. Imagine if the stories and images we were exposed to taught us that labour is an incredible and transformational experience, a rite of passage into motherhood. #ourbirthstories #allbirthsmatter #newcastlebirthphotographer #childbirth #empoweringbirth #educatingfuturemothers #birthstoryphotography #birthphotographersaustralia #birthphotographers_australia #childbirthing #birthmoment #thebeautyinbirth #birthbecomesher #birthstoryteller #birthdocumentary
