16.01.2022 The UAE authorities have seized a large quantity of counterfeit printer cartridges from a warehouse complex in Ajman. During a raid conducted in cooperation with US technology firm HP, over 72,000 counterfeit items were seized, according to HP officials. The raids in the UAE follow a series of successful raids in November and December 2020 which saw HP shutting down several counterfeit operations in Egypt, seizing 8,500 fake items.

04.01.2022 The High Court of Australia handed down its judgment, as promised on November 12, 2020, in favor of Calidad Pty Ltd (Calidad) over Seiko Epson Corporation (Epson). The case was over the rights to remanufacture and resell used printer cartridges. The full bench of seven judges allowed the appeal to proceed and in a 115-page judgment, set aside the previous orders made by the Federal Court of Australia on 5 July 2019 and 29 October 2019. Its judgment in favor of Calidad revoked all previous judgments and also awarded all costs related to each level in favor of Calidad.

KG, doing business as "Print-klex" and "123 color", as well as its managing director agreed to resolve their pending patent infringement litigation based on EP 2 087 407 ("EP '407") by signing a settlement agreement. Print-klex GmbH & Co. KG inter alia accepted a preliminary injunction (docket no. 4a O 4/19) of the District Court Düsseldorf based on the infringement of the German portion of Canon's EP '407 as final and binding between the parties.
