10.01.2022 Keep an eye on our Instagram Stories tonight... we’ll be coming to you from Government House! https://www.instagram.com/ourcoalvalley/ REPOST from Eat Well Tasmania ... Along with 150 food industry guests, we will be celebrating the season and getting together for a networking event hosted at Government House. It is a first for us, such a large event, but we know how important it is to keep making the connections between Tasmanian producers and procurers ( think hospitality, events, caterers and wholesalers). We know the stronger the connections and networks the more opportunities there will be for Tasmanian seasonal food to make it onto plates here in Tasmania. Apart from sharing with you opportunities to enjoy more Tasmanian food here in Insta, behind the scenes Eat Well Tas is working with our friends and stakeholders to influence the policy environment here in Tasmania. Right now a lot of the story about Tasmanian food is about exporting to the world and we do support that. But we also think it is really important for Tasmanians and visitors to Tasmania to have the opportunity to enjoy our amazing food every day too. Part of the event is showcasing a group of Tasmanian producers by using their food and beverages on the menu. We will share their stories over the next week or so. Thanks to everyone who has supported us to get this far, especially Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AC, Governor of Tasmania , Ainstie Wagner and the Tasmanian Hospitality Association

05.01.2022 A whole year ago we launched Our Coal Valley, and boy it’s been fun! We’ve worked with some amazing local producers and winemakers to help promote the Coal Valley’s incredible abundance. I’m so proud of what it has become. We have collated heaps of local information and provided seasonal Farm Gate Guides and business features. Freshfield Grove has come on board to share her passion and knowledge of local food with us. And we’ve collaborated with the likes of Eat Well Tasma...nia on initiatives that have benefitted locals and visitors to the valley alike. The pace of OCV in 2018 was an exciting whirlwind, but in 2019 we’re dialling it back a smidge to a more sustainable level which will allow space in our lives to build up our own farm business ( Richmond Christmas Tree Farm ) This year we plan to maintain our online presence mainly via Instagram. We LOVE our Instagram community and have some fun surprises lined up for you later in the year (think IRL!) https://www.instagram.com/ourcoalvalley/ We’re about to shake things up with a new newsletter format so you’ll get our Seasonal Farm Gate Guide (and a couple of other treats) straight to your inbox! Sign up via the link in our bio. Keep showing us your Coal Valley experiences with #ourcoalvalley. We love to see them! Cheers Nat

04.01.2022 It has been a beautiful afternoon to enjoy a strawberry tart made by Freshfield Grove and a glass of sparkling at Puddleduck Vineyard. We enjoyed a picnic packed with local goodies (because Puddleduck Vineyard is reverse BYO!) Fi’s tarts were made with Littlewood Berry Farm and Littlewood Lamb strawberries, local walnuts and of course Freshfield Grove olive oil. We also had OVOO on Czegs' Cafe sourdough, Wicked Cheese Brie and Coaldale Walnuts’s pickled walnuts, and so...me goodies from our own gardens. We’ll get the recipe for Fi’s strawberry tarts to you soon! The best way to get it is so sign up to our newsletter right here > https://ourcoalvalley.com.au/newsletter/ Thank you for visiting https://ourcoalvalley.com.au/
