12.01.2022 FAREWELL TO OUR 2019 YEAR 6 STUDENTS AND CONGRATULATIONS on GRADUATING PRIMARY SCHOOL. The P&C would like to wish all our year 6 students all the success as they head to High School. We know you will succeed in whatever you choose to do from now and into the future.... We would also like to thank all our Year 6 families who will no longer be with us for the help and support throughout their time at OPS. YOU WILL ALL BE GREATLY MISSED. It is important that we acknowledge ... A number of our year 6 parents have been P&C members and many families of year 6 students have assisted in countless P&C functions. They have dedicated many years to our school community in a range of voluntary roles. They have been pivotal members in building and guiding our school.community and were facilitators in keeping our schools rich history alive and the beautiful surrounding environment a space of learning and enjoyment (ie RAP). There have been some amazing morning teas hosted over the years (Grandparents day is a standout). 7 years ago, we saw the introduction of the P&C class coordinator groups (for years K-2). This in itself made our year 6 families form connections, friendships and a great support network we still hold dear today. Furthermore, we celebrated the sesquicentennial year of our school. A momentous event and one our year 6 students participated in their first year. In 2014, the P&C facebook page was created and opened up speedy communication (another form) with our school community. In the last 5 years our members have encouraged and supported the purchasing of new technology our children and staff use regularly, There has been a range of new equipment (from board games to sporting equipment, new play spaces (sensory garden), classroom ergonomics and playground seating, (it is a large list of improvements), which all assist in making our school a great place to teach, learn, and have fun. We want to thank you and thank your children for being a huge part and acknowledge your families contribution and your legacy to our school and its community. THANK YOU!

09.01.2022 YEAR 6 MINI FETE IS HAPPENING IN TWO DAYS (FRIDAY) The Year 6 Mini Fete will be held on Friday, 18th October in the school grounds. Each class will attend the Mini Fete for approximately one hour. This event is for students only. The students will be able to purchase tickets on the morning of the Fete and/or during their Fete time slot from Year 6 students and staff outside the office. ... No money will be exchanged at the stalls, each stall’s pricing is an amount of tickets, each ticket will be worth 50c. Students will then use these tickets to purchase items from the stalls or to participate in the activities provided by the Year 6 students. If possible, we ask that children bring their money to spend at the Fete in coins rather than notes to assist in the giving of change. The children, in the past, have brought no more than $20 to spend. The Year 6 students have been working very hard, planning and organising their stalls and they are looking forward to the support of our other students in making the Mini Fete a great success. Proceeds from the Mini Fete will go towards the Year 6 Farewell and other associated activities at the end of the year.
