16.01.2022 You may have heard of a healthy dog, having a small trace of COVID-19 in Hong Kong. Please note that this dog DID NOT get clinically ill. There have been no further cases reported via the World Health Organisation (WHO) or the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) to date. There is no evidence that household pets can transmit COVID-19. COVID-19 is spread from human to human through a person who coughs, sneezes, or speaks within a 2 metre distance. As always we rec...ommend following good hygiene whenever interacting with your pets. Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds after touching any pet. Avoid sharing food with your pets or letting your pets kiss or lick your face or mouth. Make sure children follow these same good practices. If you are required to self-isolate for 14 days - you can plan-ahead by ensuring that you have two weeks of pet food and medication on hand. If you cold or flu symptoms continue to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds when handling your pets' food or supplies and avoiding kissing, licking or sharing food. Above all, take care of yourself and your loved ones, including your fur-family members.
