22.01.2022 We are almost at the end of what has been an unparalleled, yet extraordinary year on many different levels. Our amazing teams at Our Kitchen Table have continued throughout the year to contribute in many ways doing what we do best to help out anyone who was struggling. We have continually made food, knitted and sewn items to keep people warm, and made essential clothing to help Drs and Nurses, and masks for anyone needing them, and created packs for mums and babies in need.... Thank YOU, our awesome volunteers for your loved contributions, and your wonderful skills.. Thank YOU for the donations of much needed resources. Mostly thank YOU for wanting to help spread kindness no matter what colour skin, no matter what ethnicity or religion, no matter female or male. Our communal hearts go out to everyone who has struggled in any way this year, anyone who has found it difficult in keeping it together, in putting food on the table, struggled in their relationships, their health, and/or being alone. We hope that 2021 will be a happier year for you, that it will bring good health, an abundance of food, clothing, and secure jobs, and importantly friendships and love. 16.01.2022 What an amazing effort!! Over 500 items were created and donated by the Our Kitchen Table community this Mitzvah Day. 80 care packs were distributed to disadvantaged seniors via Kehilat Nitzan and elderly residents and Aged Care staff at Arcare. Packs included hand scrub, hot chocolate sticks, handmade greeting cards, soap, shampoo and candles - all made with love and care by 40+ volunteers last Sunday. 08.01.2022 Back in July we had the lovely Gina from her organization Theodora's Cheerful Givers on our Monday zoom in session to talk about the work she does providing for the many many many disadvantaged people living in Frankston and beyond. With the longer lockdown period there is a greater need for food, warm clothing and other items as more people are out of work, and businesses are not able to open and then with added health issues. The wonderful team of Tracey and Stephen came and filled their van 2 days in a row with contributions from our wonderful community. I hope they can drive as the van was filled to the brim, with not an " spare. Way to go everyone at Ourkitchentable.org.au for your donations to Theodora's Cheerful Givers . These items will most certainly put a smile on alot of faces.

05.01.2022 And the winner of our Thermomix raffle run recently, was won by Beck Canon. Beck’s mum bought a ticket for her in this raffle and never having won anything before was completely overjoyed that her daughter won this most coveted prize. This was such a perfect prize for Beck as she has recently started her own insta page called @healthylifeofbeck. Perfect timing with the beginning of 2021 as Beck will be running her Clean and Simple 28 day reset challenge.. This raffle was so popular that it was sold out within 72 hours. Quite incredible. Major thanks to Moira @ducksback.move.grow.cook for helping to organize this raffle which helped raise much needed funds for @ourkitchentable_ to continue to purchase necessary items for our projects. Please watch this space for our next raffle which will take place soon.

03.01.2022 One of our wonderful volunteers @marian.reis has been very busy over summer knitting away to add to our care doll project. Hear what she had to say about it. A couple of months ago, my friend Liz Davidson who is the founder of the charity Our Kitchen Table, sent out a request for help to ‘dress’ 500 dolls she had received. These dolls would be given to disadvantaged children and Alzheimer’s patients. This was a good excuse to clean out the yarn cupboard and use up all the ...bits and pieces I’ve kept for no particular reason. If you would like to help out, please let me know. Lots of dolls still to dress for a worthy cause. Dresses can be knitted, crocheted or sewn!
