23.01.2022 They're always there for us - so we need to be there for our first responder volunteers - and we MUST improve our emergency management plans. We also must provide our frontline, volunteer first responders with a 'thank you' $250 rate rebate and similarly recognise our other volunteers. They serve our communities, save council costs and share that special 'spirit of the country' that makes living in the Ranges great!

12.01.2022 ROAD BLACKSPOTS: Let's get a practical plan for our local roads and make Council a strong advocate with the state government departments to clean up and fix their roads in the Ranges. I want to make a list of local Blackspots so we can keep the pressure on and have a plan, budget and timeline. WHAT ARE THE BLACKSPOTS NEAR YOU? - If elected I'll be compiling an online list so that everyone can track the progress of plans, works and what's being done to make sure the Ranges gets its fair share of state and federal funding. 05.01.2022 MORE LOCAL JOBS, ESPECIALLY IN TOURISM: Being a catalyst for more local jobs must be a high priority of Council. Since 2016 if you take away the public sector & health jobs, employment numbers in the Ranges have been almost static. Tourism is our big winner if it's properly supported. Weddings, short breaks, day-trips, wine & eco tours offer huge job opportunities. Every local job supports four other local jobs. What are your ideas to boost our tourism reputation? What's needed in your town or village? I'm 100% committed to making the Ranges' the state's number 1 destination! (pic courtesy Ellenis Day Spa Vic Tourism Awards)

04.01.2022 Unlike a lot of candidates I took the decision to do my own letterbox drop. As well as wearing out a pair of boots and chatting to some great locals, I discovered so many things that need fixing - many of which are Telstra or other utility assets, including exposed asbestos pipes. I have a notebook full of issues with a couple of towns and villages to go! My position is that Council needs to be on their A-game and where necessary be the squeaky wheel with utility organisations to ensure local streets are properly maintained.
