25.01.2022 The full range......... If you are wondering what to do with the Moroccan rub, mix some with olive oil and marinate anything you would like, for eg. Marinate a rack of lamb overnight and roast in the Webber on charcoal.....delicious! Toss pumpkin cubes in some rub, add olive oil, roast and then make yourself a flavoursome pumpkin salad. For a quick BBQ, mix with olive oil, rub into chicken or loin chops and BBQ.

15.01.2022 Before and after........
15.01.2022 I tried the most amazing product yesterday: black garlic! It is fermented garlic, no additives... but it results in morsels of smoky sweet deliciousness - perfect accompaniment to a cheese platter. Look out for Ournie Garlic’s latest product when Sonia sorts her marketting boost!
14.01.2022 So long to our fabulous Dutch Wwoofers! (The last wwoofers for 12 months). In the pursuit of excellence, Ournie Garlic is planting Creole Mustard as a soil bio-fumigator and soil green food. Turning tired, acidic soil into healthy soil, rich in organic matter is a lengthy process and with the requirement to rotate garlic crop sites each year, we have decided to spend yet more time and money on soil health to improve the quality of future crops. Our friends and neighbours keep telling us to get some cattle because it would be a lot easier and probably provide us with more money, but i'm a sucker for punishment, so i'll work on the soil this year and plant garlic again next year. We appreciate everyone's support. The garlic has been a great experience so far.
12.01.2022 Black garlic is created using specific temperature and humidity control. During the process the starches in the garlic turn to sugar. There is nothing at all added to the garlic. The result is a black, sweet, molasses or balsamic like flavour and a product high in antioxidants. Add to a cheese platter for something different or smear on toast under a poached egg. So many options......
11.01.2022 You don't need to go to same same lengths as the people below, but try letting a little piece of your property (even 2 square meters) 'go wild'. Some native grasses, a shrub, rocks a small log and you've created a wildlife habitat that will encourage birds, lizards, and beneficial insects to help the earths hammered biosphere . https://www.abc.net.au//facts/backyard-billabong/11326166
09.01.2022 Jacks Store in Corryong currently has white and purple Ournie Garlic for sale. Beautiful Shirley has run out of stock. Thanks for your support Jo!
09.01.2022 As the fog rolls over the hills and lifts off the land, the #UpperMurray reveals its timeless beauty for another day. Here in the heart of the high country, whe...re the Murray River begins, is the source of the life that has shaped so many industries, communities and picture book landscapes since the dawn of time. The Upper Murray a wellspring, untouched in many ways by modern life. From fishing in its pristine waters, to riding along the banks on horseback in the tradition of the The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival, this is a place of long lost adventure ready to be rediscovered. Where #BanjoPaterson once found inspiration, today’s experience-hungry holiday makers and tree- changing families are also discovering the appeal of a traditional #Australian bush life and the natural advantages that this ancient land holds. 08.01.2022 Ournie Garlic is back! We had a year off to bio-fumigate our soil with a creole mustard crop, we lived through the fires and covid19. The garlic has been hand-weeded and mulched and is looking fabulous. Just hoping the prediction of spring flooding is not true, or the crop will be under water.
06.01.2022 Harvest has begun early! Ournie Garlic is ripe for the picking and there should be some garlic cured in time for Christmas. We have put a lot of time and money into soil preparation, so the quality is great this year. All the garlic is hand planted, weeded and picked. Very laborious, hard work. Therefore in an attempt to make money for the first time, the garlic is $30kg (still cheap) and the garlic salt is $15 per pkt. I will soon provide times for on-farm collection and I will also provide further info. soon regarding other outlets. Take care garlic lovers. Ournie Garlic
06.01.2022 Ournie Garlic will be at the 'Nest' café in Tumbarumba this Saturday the 16th Jan from 9am till 12 noon, selling fresh garlic ($30kg), garlic salt ($15 pkt) and hopefully a new product, a yummy Moroccan rub ($20 pkt).
04.01.2022 Your clean, empty garlic salt bags can be taken to selective Woolworths stores and deposited in the soft (clean) plastic recycle bins. An Australian manufacturing company will turn them into useful items like these table and seats. The Jingellic Pony Club funded several for the Jingellic showgrounds. They look fabulous and it saves on resource, landfill and ocean pollution.
01.01.2022 Four weeks till harvest.
