14.01.2022 The past few weeks has seen our big children participate in our annual preschool transition program with our sister centre Our Place Preschool. They have enjoyed exploring the new spaces and meeting the wonderful educators. Whilst this time of year always makes our hearts feel heavy as we say goodbye to those we have built beautiful relationships with, some from when they were babies, we take comfort in the fact that we can still wave and say hello across the fence as we continue to watch them grow and flourish

04.01.2022 We are excited to announce that today we submitted our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which we have been working on for some time now, for approval to be published. Our RAP is our statement of commitment to reconciliation and to promote positive relationships, respect and trust between the wider Australian community and First Nations people. To acknowledge our commitment we wanted to purchase an original artwork to accompany our reconciliation vision and our Acknowledg...ment to Country in our centre. We are fortunate that our annual school photo photographer Kristy’s mum, Doris Glasson, is a wonderfully talented artist who was born in Gilgandra and now resides here in the Bay, who has some amazing pieces. With consultation with Doris we are delighted to share photos of three of her beautiful paintings, along with their story to share with our children, team, families and community to help us choose the perfect artwork for our centre. The children started having their say today by giving their ‘thumbs up’ underneath the photo of their favourite artwork. We also invite our wider Play School community to help us choose by giving a heart or a thumbs up to the artwork/story that resonates with you. The three paintings are equally as beautiful as each other so your help will be appreciated. 03.01.2022 Yesterday’s homemade paint post by our awesome Alicia. Today we painted without paint or a brush! Jamay made brushes using grasses found in the yard, taping the bottom together to create a handle while I made paint with Cornstarch, water and food colouring.
