23.01.2022 Just before getting down to Business The monthly business/board meeting had a wonderful introduction on Wednesday evening. Our board members, together with Philipa and Doug Core and myself, connected via "Zoom" with our Zambian school staff. It was so good to see and hear them! First there was chatter with project coordinator Mary who was soon joined by cook Mable. Then followed teaching staff Evelyn, Dean and Susan along with facility caretaker Alfred. ... So close but oh so far!! My apologies for the photo quality but I hope you get the idea. It was great fun! Pam

22.01.2022 Our annual general meeting will be a "zoom" event this year. We would love you to connect with us for the meeting (and for the future too). Details of the "Zoom" link and more will advised on Facebook and Instagram prior to 8th December.... All Board Positions will also become vacant and we would like to now call for nominations. Should you wish to nominate for any of these positions, nominate another person, find out more details, or to receive an agenda, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected]

21.01.2022 The long and the short of it.....the start of a new school year is a very expensive time for our charity. Perhaps part of your Christmas giving could include a donation to Our Rainbow House? Our office is just an email away and would love to talk with you about this. Thank you.... 19.01.2022 Sadly Our Rainbow House will not be hosting our annual Melbourne Cup Party this year due to COVID regulations. We are, however, planning on a Garden Party in March 2021, so stay tuned!

11.01.2022 Zambian Independence Day is a time for celebration. Pencils down, books away, let's party!

10.01.2022 Cultural diversity is at the very heart of Our Rainbow House, making the music of the group MZAZA our sort of music. Our director Alison joined a group of our supporters to travel to nearby township of Capella to attend a MZAZA concert. This award winning group, with members from countries including Bosnia, Turkey, France, Australia and more, delighted the crowd with their own beautiful blend of music. Should MZAZA happen to be performing near you, we urge you to go along. You won't be disappointed.

09.01.2022 School pride. Our school might be tiny, our premises less than ideal and our resources limited. However, we are bursting with pride.

09.01.2022 A visit to Rockhampton. Our director Alison was in Rockhampton today and managed to sneak a cuppa with a few wonderful supporters. Marion, Joy and Majella shared morning tea with Alison. What great ladies and wonderful friends they are.

07.01.2022 This weekend saw a great team effort to benefit our school. Board members Suzie, Alison, Marion and Nola met at Yeppoon, communicating with Brisbane-based board member Amanda. They worked on a myriad of matters relating to our charity. Further supporters were called in to share their knowledge. Former board member, sponsor and supporter Bernardine came from Emerald. Philipa, Doug and Pam joined via "Zoom" for a meeting with project coordinator Mary. Planning for 2021 was... on the agenda. Our director was most appreciate of everyone who gave their personal time for this weekend. Despite Saturday being a public holiday for Zambian Independence Day, project coordinator Mary came into the school office to share the "Zoom" meeting. Thank you Mary Pictured are Marion, Suzie and Bernardine.

The present village clinic has many limitations and excitedly there are changes afoot. A new clinic is under construction and our project coordinator Mary was invited to join area Member of Parliament Professor Nkandu Luo, area Councilor Dorcas Moyo, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Mr Mwale and others from within the community to the "gro...und breaking" ceremony. The new clinic will cater for several village communities, including ours and is being built on land which was donated by Mr Adams. Building funds have been provided by the Government. The construction will take 16 weeks to be completed.
