25.01.2022 Vince Connelly MP https://www.facebook.com/vince4stirling/ was really pleased to brief Assistant Defence Minister Alex Hawke about Our Veterans Forge, Minister Hawke loves his new key ring which is made in the tradition of trench art from WW1 and WW2. Bowl is hand forged by a couple of the veterans from 2 mm stainless plate and key rings we make from Australian pennies dated 1938 to 1960.
18.01.2022 Camp knives being forged this week with dog head hammers they made last week. Thanks to Black Horse Forge again for the lesson plan, a good reference for the guys since forging the whole knife as no simple stock removal on knives here.
17.01.2022 Something different last couple of weeks, hammer forged Damascus and copper roses. We ventured into San Mai then Damascus making various things to learn about forge welding. Lot of work in both but with the right instructors and some training anything is possible, especially when you enjoy it as much as they do.
04.01.2022 Now our volunteer instructor Mierteck from BAWA is back from his trip up north the guys got to see his Dragon toasting forks. They quickly asked if he can teach them after the camp knives handles and kydex sheaths are done. This is showing the variety in things we make with the veterans to get their skills up if they want as so many options we will find something for everyone.
