23.01.2022 UNPRECEDENTED // Prue Cullen Coming to the Outback Arts Gallery From 23 November 2020... Prue Cullen began her artistic practice with ceramics as a therapeutic outlet as she came to terms with her husband’s illness. Her current collection named ‘Unprecedented’ is born out of processing grief, both personally and for the environment as she watches with despair at the destruction humans have wrought on the planet. Prue’s sculptural pieces of birds and animals, depict them as modern saints, set within ornate shrines. Prue’s hope is that this work will inspire you to contemplate what we stand to lose and reclaim our respect, allowing us to revel in the brilliance of all life on earth. Collapse will likely not come as a dramatic global collapse but as overall deterioration in many features of life, with regional collapses occurring here and there. Around 1 million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction many within decades. The web of life is getting smaller and increasingly frayed. - Will Stefan
