20.01.2022 Business as usual. We're receiving calls daily in regards to if we're still operating as normal and the answer, of course, is yes. We're still here for all of your 4WD needs, whether it be mechanical or accessories.... 20.01.2022 Had a bit of work done on the Patrol at Outback 4WD, after bending the rear axle down in Tassie earlier this year. New diff/axle housing and we put a 'Superior' axle strengthening kit onto it. Got a new exhaust and adjusted the Koni's up a notch. Bit of a service and we're ready to hit the tracks again - hopefully sometime soon.
18.01.2022 Getting ready to head bush ..... Had the Cruiser in at Outback 4WD getting a service before we headed bush for a few days. Don't forget to get your vehicle serviced and looked over before heading away, whether that's for a weekend or longer!

16.01.2022 Rebuilding our much loved historic High Country huts. Huts confirmed by Victorian High Country Huts Association lost in recent fires include Wheelers Creek Hut, Gibsons / Mt Pinnibar Hut, Ski Hut / Lind Lodge, Turntables Huts. In the case of Gibson’s Hut, the hut was burnt down by bushfires in January 2020 - pic shows what it was like in December 2019 and then just one month later. Planning is underway for rebuilding. Any enquiries, donations towards rebuilding, or offers of materials or labour can be directed to [email protected] or [email protected] Also consider joining the Victorian High Country Huts Association. www.vhcha.org.au/membership to help preserve our huts.

16.01.2022 New De-Bug fuel filter ....... Had one of these De-bug filters on the Patrol for damn near 20 years, well, 17 at least. Cracked the case which we repaired with liquid steel, but now its time for a new unit. What's inside? There's a couple of big magnets, which the fuel flows between and the resultant magnetic field kills any micro bugs in the fuel (micro-bugs are a relatively common problem in diesel fuel). They collect in the filter unit (mine was chockers this last time) an...d not in your normal fuel filter, resulting in cleaner fuel getting to your engine. This technology has been around for years in ships, earth moving equipment and industrial applications, but the L500 unit is one of the smallest units they make and is ideal for vehicle applications. Had the crew at Outback4WD change the unit over while the ol' Patrol was getting a big dose of maintenance! For more info go to: http://de-bug.com.au/ See more
