23.01.2022 Planning and fine Tuning is still underway and the Route Director has a little helper, while sorting out the brochures collected along the way. {Fast Fact } from the brochure in hand: Charters Towers was at one time the second largest city in Queensland!

17.01.2022 After two long days of 12 hour driving the Reccie it was time to give the Route Director a break. Noooo I don’t mean I drove but we did a side tour and climbed this hill. Thought I would share, because you won’t see this on Outback 2021. Leanne and Phil it is our downtime today.

12.01.2022 The next Outback Getaway will begin on Saturday the 7th August 2021. Join us as we escape the cold Darling Downs and head north through pine forests, over creeks and rivers and through majestic valleys until we reach the energising spectacle of Gap Creek. We will cross vast plains of cereal crops, explore small rural towns before lunching with our Rotary country cousins in award winning parkland. The afternoon brings more thick forest, opening up to the gas exploration infrastructure and rugged scenery of the Barakular region to our Ludwig Leichardt inspired evening destination

10.01.2022 We reckon it is about time we put a Outback Getaway sticker up here when we visit next year. It was great to meet the owners who just moved in three days ago. They were so helpful and are looking forward to us arriving with a band in tow as well !
