There are some amazing things to explore out here; The Darling River, Trilby Sta...tion and also there is Dunlop Station. The unique features of Dunlop Station are very impressive and had the things we love see- authentic old stuff . Playing home to many historical feats, the property owners conduct a tour full of captivating design features over the homestead, Old General Store and large 45 stand mechanical sheering shed. The New owners have been busily restoring the station for the past 8 years, in an admirable attempt to ensure the salvation of the incredible history held within the Dunlop boarder fences. 14.01.2022 WHAT: A visit to Gilgandra NSW. WHERE: The town is situated at the junction of the Newell, Oxley and Castlereagh Highways 436 km north west of Sydney. W...HY: We wanted to find out more about the windmill town and the amazing Coo-ee March. WHEN: Winter. The mornings are brisk. FOOD: There are a variety of litle cafes in the main street, chinese restaurants, pubs and clubs. STAY: We stayed at the Castlereagh motor inn gilgandra a bit out of town - which was perfectly clean and comfortable and a real bargain. TO DO: Gilgandra Rural Museum, The windmill walk, and Coo-ee Heritage Centre. Take a stroll around town. See more

03.01.2022 Gulargambone is a tiny town located on the Castlereagh River and just off the Castlereagh Highway midway between Gilgandra and Coonamble in New South Wales. ... In April 2018, ten renowned artists throughout Australia visited Gulargambone to create the wildest of make overs. Twelve buildings, one water tower and two footpaths were chosen for wonderful murals including 3D interactive artworks. The Gulargambone Water Tower was painted by Jenny McCracken, Zest Events International and she titled her Kingfisher art work Lucky Dip. The visiting artists included outback icons Peter Browne and John Murray. The old hands were joined by urban artists Goodie, James Giddy, Claire Foxton and Sam Brooks who enjoyed his first foray into the true outback of Australia. Gulargambone is only a small town, so walking around it to see the murals is very easy. I also highly recommend the Gulargambone Caravan Park.
