25.01.2022 Today we held the Annual Bass and Estuary Perch Invitational on the Shoalhaven River. What an absolute cracker of a morning. All boats were away by 5.10am and the first Bass hit the decks soon after. All teams managed some decent Bass on the surface on a river still full of flood debris. Catches included Bass, Estuary Perch, Bream, an Eel and a Swallow. Prize categories Biggest Bass 39.5 by Wal Balzan Biggest EP 38.5 by Mark Fisher... Biggest Aggregate Wal Balzan 72.9 Mystery Catch - a Swallow by Freddie Bolton At this stage we have raised $1025.00 which is to be donated to Shoalhaven Suicide Prevention and Awareness. My big thanks to all taking part for making this such a fun morning and for a cause close to us all.

24.01.2022 Slumming it down at Lake Conjola for a few days. What a way to slum it! A touch of bread fishing I'm thinking.

23.01.2022 A really nice steady cranking session with Trish Armstrong today. Murky water after the recent rains made for ideal Bream conditions. The majority were mid to upper 30s with only a couple of little guys thrown in. A couple of 45+ flatties topped out a nice session. The destroyers today.......the Hurricane fat 37 in UV Prawn and the Prolure S36 in Violet.

20.01.2022 Afternoon friends, As we are all well aware we lost an amazing person, that being Bob Russo. Late last year I sat down with Bob to learn more about him. As it w...as I brought along my camera and we filmed a small part of what we talked about. Unfortunately we never got to finish what we started. I'm very grateful for this time Bob spent we with me. R.I.P LEGEND NO MORE PAIN! See more

20.01.2022 My very special thank you to mate Richard Jones whose $500 bid won this rod I built specially for this event. All monies raised are to be presented to Shoalhaven Suicide Prevention and Awareness. Thank you also to Anthony Kalsow and Pro Lure for their gift of two prize packs. These were won by Glen Sherriff and Nathan Thornwait. Finally, a thanks to local tackle shop owner, Gav McCallum from McCallums Tackle World for his donation of a fishing rod. This rod was won with a nice Bass from Wal Balzan.

20.01.2022 I posted a short video yesterday but the still photos do this rod some justice. CTS Air 2-4kg Matagi custom seat cork and trims Fuji Torzite guide train ... Feather inlays See more

18.01.2022 This bloke is a real Aussie legend. Keep up the great work Dean.

16.01.2022 Another hard morning on the River. Only one little Bass coming out to play despite perfect conditions. Bring on the hot weather and cicadas.

16.01.2022 Thresher in the spread. Wicked!!! #Repost @bullbusterdotnet with @make_repost Wild video of a thresher in the trolling spread! Repost from @sinfultunafishing

15.01.2022 A fun little morning session fishing the "dark side". Bream, Blackfish and Mullet. Nothing huge but well worth a couple of hours.

15.01.2022 My newest creation. It's still turning at the moment after the last coat of finish. It's a CTS 7'6" 2-4kg spin rod in a deep satin green. It features a full Fuji Torzite guide train with Matagi cracked metallic SSK seatand trims. I've done a couple of feather inlays to tie the colour scheme together.

14.01.2022 A high barometer and 18 degree water temp didnt convert into more fish. Only 4 Bass for a hard session but......sometimes its more about sitting and appreciating the world around us. Stunning reflections on a river of glass.

14.01.2022 Nice morning on the River chasing a few Bass. Nothing like a few days ago but still a few nice fish. Biggest went 42 tip. Trish caught her first fish from her new Hobie.

13.01.2022 If you go fishing regularly, then some form of hooking yourself IS going to happen. Whether through your own actions, the actions of another, a fish or just bad luck. It will happen.

12.01.2022 Checking out some Bass spots with Trish Armstrong to try out in the future. I'm thinking with my dodgy knees, Tallowa wins.....just not close to the wall . Kangaroo Valley pub lunch. Great way to spend a Saturday.

12.01.2022 I decided to share these photos to my page to show people what can be done with EVA (if you're patient and talented). Unbelievable skills and craftsmanship.

11.01.2022 Fantastic fish. Great release.

10.01.2022 Peaceful tranquillity.

10.01.2022 What an awesome early morning fishing the Basin flats. My first decent topwater session for this season. Eight Flatties and one very good one missed right at the Hobie. Biggest 67 and 60 with a couple of 50+ and the rest legals. All released to fight again.

09.01.2022 Finished another one over the weekend as a birthday present. A stunning CTS 4-6kg 7' spinning blank in metallic blue with a cracked metallic blue VSS seat and trims from Matagi Components. My touch of bling with a gorgeous metallic blue tiger wrap and feather inlay. The guide wraps are transparent so you can see the guide feet. Soooo hard to get a decent shot of the tiger but I'm very happy with the finished result.

09.01.2022 What a cracker of a morning to be on the River. Fog, then brilliant sunshine, some creek exploring and a dozen Bass thrown in. The destroyer this morning.....a Pangani Siglet! The river is still very dirty but the Bass are still hungry. Perfect for the Shoalhaven Bass and EP invitational this weekend.

07.01.2022 A hard but enjoyable little session on the River this morning with Trish. No big numbers of fish but one cracker of a scared up Bass at 43cm. It is interesting that a heap of fish are showing battle scars. I don't know whether they're breeding fights, flood damage or some type of algal infection. It's interesting when nearly 9 out of 10 show this damage. What are your thoughts?

06.01.2022 Does fluorocarbon actually live up to the marketing hype? Is it really worth the extra expense?

05.01.2022 These are screenshots taken from the Fishing World web letter commemorating the life of our mate Bobby Russo. I had to keep it short so I hope I've contributed something in memory of the man he was.

03.01.2022 These fish escape being eating by flying through the air.

02.01.2022 I scored my first surface strike on a Crossfire this morning but that was it for surface. Warm weather this week will see it happen.Perfect conditions for surface fishing.
