03.01.2022 2020 IS DONE AND DUSTED!!!! What a year, may there never be another one like it. 2021 Brings not only hope, for some type of normality in our lives, but also op...portunity. The drought has finally broken for most of us and, if we can get on top of this pandemic, 2021 looks like a much better year. The whole Outback Whips and Leather team has devoted a lot of time and effort to not only survive 2020 and the years of financial pain caused by the drought, but planning and putting systems in place for 2021 and beyond. Cassie, Kim, Cimmon and Gabi in the Broken Hill store have again gone above and beyond what is asked of them and have worked tirelessly, and with little input from Liz and I, to grow our business in a very difficult year. They have not only kept the business running, but have added new brands such as Gidgee Eyewear and Outback Jeans. Some old favorites such as Bullzye and Harrold Boots have also returned and I hear a whisper there are some other new labels arriving soon. Liz and I have not only been operating the Red Cliffs store and trying to maintain stocks of our leather and vinyl products, but doing a lot behind the scenes to bring some exciting new changes to Outback Whips and Leather in 2021. Some of these changes will include, THE NEW MOBILE STORE, Liz and I have been getting our truck and mobile store all set up and ready to roll. As we wait for for border restrictions to lift and organizing committees to re-establish themselves and start to plan for their next event we are preparing a diary of dates and events. If you are part of an outback event, or would like us to bring our mobile store to your area, please contact us so we can put it on the board and hopefully make it happen. Liz and I are looking forward to catching up with those we have met on our previous travels with our store. OUTBACK WHIPS AND LEATHER BRANDING, We are now producing all our quality products, (except saddlery), with the Outback Whips and Leather logo to better identify where they are made. You may have noticed this started happening on Liz's vinyl products late last year. ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE PARTNERSHIP, We are very excited to have been given the opportunity to run some leatherwork workshops as part of the RFDS, (SE Region), men's health program. This is something we have been working on putting together since August and hopefully we will be able to get them started as restrictions are lifted. RED CLIFFS STORE CLOSURE, Unfortunately we need to close the Red Cliffs store in March to allow us to get on top of the increased demand for our quality products and to operate the mobile store. We will however continue to operate a retail business from our home workshop and at markets etc. Liz and I are very excited about the opportunities that 2021 offers and look forward to introducing these new initiatives. We intended commencing this year with a trip to our Son and Daughter-in-laws property which, we have not been able to do for two years, but, that must now be put on hold as the borders lock down again. Hopefully we will be able to contain this new Covid outbreak quickly and, like the devastating drought of the last few years, put it behind us. So while we wait for the world to return to some form of normality Liz and I would like to thank all our customers for their valued support. We would also like to thank our friends and family for believing in us and our business and encouraging us not only to survive 2020, but to put steps in place to make Outback Whips and Leather bigger and better because of 2020. We would also like to thank our fantastic staff who are the very face of our business, for their untiring efforts and dedication.
