25.01.2022 In 2015, Stan Grant gave Australia a great gift. It was a speech that addressed the issue "Racism is destroying the Australian dream". This is a challenging conversation, but one that must surely be engaged in for us to move forward in our reconciliation journey, both as a nation and as individuals. The speech is inspiring and frank in naming some of the key historical oppressions that have impacted on our First Peoples. 11.01.2022 We had a great week with hosting a workshop with the fabulous and insightful Dr Howard Bath presenting to 125 carers, social workers, youth workers, teachers, caseworkers and academics on the impact of trauma on children and young people. Howards ability to synthesise the complexity of trauma research and encourage those working in the field to think carefully about how to apply this to our work is inspiring. #drhowardbath #traumatraining #outboxconsulting
