21.01.2022 UPDATE: We came "Runner-Up" on Friday evening for the Queensland Community Achievement Award 2020. Congratulations to 2 Bent Rods for winning the award. 21.01.2022 Meet another outstanding employee, Aaron Baker. Aaron has been with Outdoor Solutions Queensland for just over a year and was recently promoted to a Team Leader. He's reliable, punctual, has a consistent good attitude and a willingness to accept challenges which allow him to grow within the company. Aaron says he mostly enjoys working for Outdoor Solutions Queensland because there is so much variety not the same job every day and he is constantly learning on the job. On a p...revious project, a property owner Jessie sent us a glowing review stating, " Daryl and I met Aaron Baker when he managed the landscaping work for Outdoor Solutions on our property in Kewarra Beach in June/July 2020. Ours was a sizeable job which included 3 separate gardens, 260m of hardwood garden edging, an underground irrigation system and 2,500m of turf. 18.01.2022 Thank you to Michael Healy and the QLD government for supporting local jobs by contributing funding towards projects such as the Whitfield State School early years nature based playground. We are certainly very grateful to be involved providing work for our own team and also other local suppliers subcontractors and consultants that have been apart of it. Keep a look out for the photos when the playground is completed in approximately four weeks.

We w...ould like to thank Prime Constructions for having faith in us, awarding us the contract and being a great builder to work with, the whole team at Prime where fantastic. A special mention to the Landscape Architect Andrae Seredenko from AS Designs who did all three Crystalbrook Projects. Andrae was an absolute pleasure to work with, we would have no hesitation in recommending him for any project and would love to work with him again. 16.01.2022 We are building a nature based playground at Whitfield State School here are some progress photos taken when Cairns MP Michael Healy came to visit this week. We are very excited about this project which is based on the narrative of Little Roo’s Playground a story written by a teacher from the school Ms Del Favero about a young Joey who is nervous about his first day of school but his mum encourages him by saying he will get to meet lots of new friends and there will be a r...eally cool playground to play on. There are 13 different play areas each based on a different native animal with narrative signage to guide the kids through the journey of Little Roo’s Playground. Completion will be in approximately 4 weeks.

15.01.2022 Meet Ellie the Eclectus Parrot. She is Captain of the Pirate Ship at Little Roo’s Playground. Seen here being carved to life by Artist Shane Christensen from the Sunshine Coast. Shane drove all the way to Cairns especially to create this piece and others for this wonderful school project. I think it is fair to say he has done an amazing job. Please like and follow his Facebook page to support this great artist.... Little Roo’s Playground is the storybook of a nervous Joey’s first day at school. He is is encouraged by his mum not to worry because he will meet lots of new friends and there is also a really cool playground at the school. Inspired by the feedback of the prep to year two kids at Whitfield State School and bought to life by the Author and Teacher Sarah Del Favero, Little Roo’s Playground is truly an amazing accomplishment for the school. As Principal Contractor engaged on a design and construct basis we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the school to deliver this playground. In particular, we would like to acknowledge Landscape Architect Simon Maher from Landplan for his creative input having provided the initial concept design and engaged by Outdoor Solutions during the construction stage. There are many more great local businesses who have been involved in this project and we will gladly give them the recognition they deserve when we publish our completion photos in approximately two weeks. Stay tuned to see Little Roo’s Playground come to life!

Our team demolished an existing timber wall and put up a concrete sleeper retaining wall, two terraces and stabilised the bank with grassroots fibre fabric. Not an easy job but the customer was very pleased.
