11.01.2022 Outlaws were happy to serve Vern Schuppan in our shop today. He drove here in his rare 2-owner M-Code (390 tri-power) '63 Thunderbird. Vern has driven Formula O...ne, the Indianapolis 500 (3 times) and most successfully in sports car racing. His biggest career victory was with the factory-backed ‘Rothmans Porsche’ team to win the 1983 24 Hours of Le Mans in the Porsche 956. He played a major part in bringing Formula One to Adelaide. He was born & bred here in South Australia, and lives part of the year here in Adelaide. In 1984 Vern was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the sport of Motor Racing. See more
