07.01.2022 Love this...It would have been easier for Prof Noakes to avoid the fight that took over four years and involved a lot of work and stress...but he didn't choose ...the easy road because this is too important. At the end of the day, the vexatious complaint made against him by a dietitian could not stand against the mountain of evidence presented by Prof Noakes and his legal team because the evidence is clear...we got it wrong. #bringbackthefat #isupportprofnoakes

Here are 8 nutrients which you can absorb from just changing your diet which blocks cancer metastasis! The Truth About Cancer
02.01.2022 Dr Ben Bikman tweeted this morning "Guess what happens when a Type 2 diabetic with early memory impairment (early Alzheimer's) adopts a #lowcarb #ketogenic diet... and exercise for 10 weeks? Yep ... Everything gets better!" The case study (attached below) was designed to examine the link between peripheral insulin resistance and early stage memory loss in a type 2 diabetic male. I often wonder how different the last 7 years would have been if health professionals, Associations and Regulatory Bodies in Australia had not been so closed to debate and insistent on following the guidelines... Gary believes "science evolves by being challenged, not by being followed." How many lives would have changed for the better if Gary had been encouraged to discuss #foodasmedicine and the health benefits of Low Carb Healthy Fat principles he was witnessing, rather than being 'silenced'? I look back and think how enriched our lives have become because of the road blocks and how many more people have heard the message. Road blocks led Gary to research links between nutrition and health, focussing on biochemistry even more. Getting onto social media was a blessing and there is no doubt ... we have found 'our people' here #isupportgary TYPE 2 DIABETES Unfortunately, people with Type 2 diabetes aren’t always getting the right information. Many are unaware that carbohydrates end up as glucose in the blood stream and high amounts cause a rise in blood glucose levels, regardless of whether they are low Glycaemic Index or not. They aren’t always being told that low fat products often have a significant amount of added sugar to improve palatability. They aren’t always being told that insulin is a fat storing hormone and a side-effect of excess insulin is weight gain. They aren’t always being told that weight gain causes insulin resistance which will mean they will require even more insulin! And they aren’t being told that there is another approach to managing their disease - a Lower Carbohydrate and Healthy natural Fat (LCHF) way of eating! ABSTRACT Diabetics in mid-life carry a 1.5 times higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease than those diagnosed with diabetes (T2D) later in life. Recent research points to accelerated cognitive decline within a range of 20%50% for middle-aged diabetics as compared to non-diabetic populations. Metabolic syndrome (MetS), a type 2 diabetes (T2D) precursor, is also linked to MCI and AD pathologies via hypo-metabolic brain circuitry that inhibits glucose metabolism and attenuates cognitive function. Dysregulation of intracellular and extracellular signaling as mediated by the mTOR and AMPK pathways is the result. These critical nutrient sensing pathways modulate epigenetic shifts in the genome by channeling fuel substrates either towards mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation (AMPK) or cytosolic glycolysis and substrate level phosphorylation (mTOR). The case study (attached below) was designed to examine the link between peripheral insulin resistance and early stage memory loss in a type 2 diabetic male. Reactivating the AMPK pathway via induced and controlled nutritional ketosis combined with high intensity interval training (HIIT) (in order to inhibit mTOR signaling) were primary features of the 10 week intervention. Post intervention results revealed statistically significant reductions in HgA1c, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR (homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance). Restoring peripheral and hypothalamic insulin sensitivity by way of AMPK activation may restore memory function, improve neuroplasticity, and normalize MetS biomarkers (Demetrius and Driver, 2014;). https://www.sciencedirect.com//artic/pii/S1871402118301176 #wecantwait #choosehealth #lchf
