24.01.2022 White Ribbon is back! Show your support and join in this virtual event on the 13th August. See you there!
24.01.2022 On the year of our 50th Anniversary Outlook is proud to announce it has successfully completed the White Ribbon Australia Workplace Accreditation Program under the new program management team of Communicare, a community services organisation. The program facilitates a whole of organisation commitment to address issues of gendered violence and sexual harassment against women. Outlook has a particular focus on people with disability to emphasise and address the much higher per...centage of people with disability who have experienced physical and family violence in the population, Anne McCormick, Outlook Deputy CEO said. Outlook was one of the first 80 organisations in Australia to achieve accreditation, in 2016, and we sought reaccreditation because we wanted to continue to equip our staff with the knowledge and resources to better understand what gendered violence is, how to identify it and what they can do to prevent it. Whether in the workplace, or broader community, we all have a responsibility to stand up and speak out against behaviours that contribute to gendered violence, support women affected by it, and hold perpetrators accountable. At Outlook we strive for an inclusive and safe working environment for staff at all levels of our organisation. The White Ribbon Australia accreditation process has strengthened that internal culture. White Ribbon Australia is a part of a global social movement working to eliminate gendered violence, striving for an Australian society where all women and children are safe, including in our workplaces. 19.01.2022 Walking groups are back! We are happy to confirm that Outlooks walking groups will recommence from week beginning 22 June. Outlook (Vic) Inc. has the health and wellbeing of their participants, staff and volunteers as a priority. Outlook has put into place processes and procedures to ensure that we are doing our utmost to ensure the health and safety of everyone who comes to the Centre or is in a group that is held offsite. We have also received advise from Heart Founda...tion Walking which we need to follow to ensure the safety of all our walkers. While some restrictions are easing, its important for everybody, including walkers to keep playing their part to stop the spread of COVID-19. Remember, everyone participating in a walk must: - continue social distancing (keeping 1.5m distance from others) - stay home if unwell (e.g. fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat etc) - seek testing for any COVID-19 symptoms and report a positive test result to Outlook as soon as possible - practice good hand hygiene and cover coughs and sneezes. The Heart Foundation encourages walkers to: - download the COVIDSAFE app and use it at all times; - get the annual flu (influenza) vaccination; and - talk to their doctor about whether re-joining the walks at this stage is appropriate, particularly if participants are vulnerable. This includes older walkers, and those with chronic health conditions. - Take a water bottle on the walk and dont use any water fountains on the way.. - Any social interactions organised for before or after each walk must also be in strict compliance with social distancing rules and in line with the advice of the state. Spaces are limited so please book in www.outlookvic.org.au/book-online (from Monday) All walking groups will comply with government restrictions which is currently ten for each group
