18.01.2022 That’s better This poor old timber wall had a long life and served its purpose, but it was time for a fresh Outside Landscapes approach to make this backyard appealing and functional once again. The once inconspicuous ‘Crepe Myrtle’ Tree in the neighbour’s yard is now a focal point for everyone to enjoy! #landscaper #ilovemyjob #revamp #bainesmasonry

17.01.2022 FAMOUS SOIL If you live in Bulli, you should ask your soil for an autograph. It contains a combination of Clay and Basalt of Volcanic Origins that is absolutely perfect for cricket pitches. The world famous Sydney Cricket Ground is lucky enough to have Bulli Soil on its pitch and in the English Tour of 1920/21 the English team had an outing to Bulli to visit the home of the famous soil. I’m great at remembering obscure and random facts like these. Just don’t ask me when my wedding anniversary is #famous #soil #scg #bulli #stillwouldnthelpmebowlwell

12.01.2022 It’s so important now more than ever to encourage and educate our children on the importance of Sustainable Living. The modern consumerist culture has led to a dependence on the corporate entities and has really brought out the worst in humanity of late. Be kind to each other. Garden with your kids. Enjoy #outside #gardens #sustainableliving #wishwecouldgrowtoiletpaper

12.01.2022 Anyone with Roses understands what a pest Aphids can be. They pierce the flesh of fresh stems and suck out the vital juices that the rose needs to flourish. There are lots of great solutions on offer and I should have sprayed my 6 Standard Iceberg Roses by now. However there is one benefit to having aphids in your Roses, they attract LADYBUGS which the kids absolutely love. A single Ladybug can eat up to 50 aphids in one day. If you look closely in this photo you’ll see a couple of Ladybugs playing ‘doctors and nurses’ #roses #landscaper #aphids #ladybugs #sexytime

10.01.2022 What an experience. Plant people are my favourite kind of people. I was driving through the Southern Highlands and was concerned about the plants on the back of the truck, I pulled over to make sure they were all ok. Are they for me?, I heard. I turned around and met my new friend Dawn. Dawn was kind enough to make me a coffee and show me around her absolutely stunning half acre property featuring some of the most amazing gardens I have ever seen. Dawn and her husband Graha...m built this home in 1966 and every plant you see in these photos has been planted by them. The amount of knowledge and inspiration I have gained from this chance meeting is just incredible. If you feel like leaving that Maple tree I won’t mind, Dawn says with a grin as we wave our goodbyes. #landscaper #southernhighlandsnsw #makingfriends #betterhomesandgardens #plantpeople #dawnisalegend See more

06.01.2022 SORRY!! Driving through the charred remains of a street in the Wollondilly Shire, I had to wave out the window to a few cars as they worked around my hasty move to the side of the road. I’m sure that other fellow Plant Lovers can relate, nature can be so distracting. And this was one distraction that I had to take a closer look at. This dear old Gum is survived by these freshly flowering Xanthorrhoea, what a sight. Did you know that a kink in the trunk of the Australian Grass Tree is an indication of a bushfire? Nature is incredibly humbling at times... #xanthorrhoea #nature #bushfire #horribledriving #howstheparkingjob

04.01.2022 Meet Adam Our usual morning for the last couple of weeks consisted of Adam greeting me at 7am at the back door, we would both throw our arms around in the air in excitement. This was followed by Adam coming outside and issuing me with a series of very well thought out questions on what ‘we’ would be doing today and how we were going to achieve it. Adam is a highly experienced 50 year old Construction Manager trapped inside a 4 year olds body. His enthusiasm and thirst fo...r knowledge was a joy to experience. I had the pleasure of presenting Adam with his very first Tool Kit. Adam is going places. I hope he remembers this moment when he is CEO of the largest construction company in Australia. #nextgeneration #legend #landscaper #wishhewasoldenoughtoemploy

01.01.2022 Strelizia nicolai Even the smallest areas in your yard can make you feel like spending just a little longer outside

01.01.2022 Cycas Revoluta This ‘Sago Palm’ makes for a perfect feature plant. Cycads have been around for over 200 Million Years. They were thought to be the preferred snack for Stegosaurus in the Jurassic period. They have survived countless climate disasters like ice ages, and even meteorite collisions with earth. Incredibly, I gave one to my sister recently and it didn’t last a month She must have a gift @kristie.lyness #loveyousis #cycad #dinosaurplant #lovemyjob
