10.01.2022 Been out walking off the Easter treats? Don’t forget to clean your glasses! Research has shown that on average, we touch our faces more than 20 times an hour - it’s easy to forget how often we also touch our glasses without thinking about it. Here are a few tips to keep your glasses squeaky clean:... Wash your hands before removing your glasses. Use warm water and detergent, or hand soap. Avoid the use of alcohol or alcohol-based sanitisers, as these may damage your frames. Wash your cleaning cloth regularly - through the washing machine is fine.

08.01.2022 COVID-19 policy for Outside Optical. We are continuing to see patients at this time until we hear more. We are acheiving this by practising Social distancing and have set up a separate waiting room for patients waiting to be seen by the optometrist. Only having minimal walk in clients in our first waiting room. We ask if there are already 2 people in the waiting room when you arrive to please wait at the bottom of the stairs until we have cleared the room. We also endeavou...r to disinfect between each patient. As well as our dispenser wearing protective gloves and mask and again inkeeping with social distancing. Please bear with us through this difficult time and we will keep you updated as the situation changes. -The Outside Optical Team. *Edit* As always and especially during this time, Please, call us and cancel your appointment if you are feeling sick or have left the country recently. #lowerthecurve

05.01.2022 Ever wondered how colour defective people see the world? Colour vision anomalies occur in around 8% of males. Many of the genes involved in colour vision are on the X chromosome, making colour vision differences much more common in males than in females (because males only have one X chromosome, while females have two). An estimated 23% of women have slightly different red colour vision and can be considered tetrachromats.
