While this is a brief overview, in future posts we will delve into some of these topics in more detai...l. The Second is part 1 of a two part series on 10 beautiful, low maintenance plants. The cost of plants can quickly add up, especially if you are choosing the wrong plants for the conditions your property offers. 23.01.2022 The aim of this project was to create a beautiful outdoor entertaining space that felt like relaxing at a tropical resort. While on the other side we aimed to create a functional space to include a storage shed and large turfed area. We installed spotted gum decking with the aid of Piat Constructions and fantasy granite tiling by Environ Pools. All tropical plants were used with large white feature pots to showcase beautiful evergreen Frangipani trees. The fencing was repaired and painted ironstone grey to match the existing guttering and allow the plants to pop.

14.01.2022 Our clients had done an amazing job renovating this old Queenslander but due to time constraints needed some help with the design and installation of the landscaping. To create some usable lawn space and to improve drainage we excavated the front slope. We installed retaining walls, new garden beds, stairs, entry arbour and paved footpath access to front steps. We added some functional space for the bins along the driveway as well as screening Radermachera 'summer scent'. Very appreciative for the opportunity to work on this project.

12.01.2022 This was a fun project. A steep block, minimal access (couldnt fit a regular sized wheel barrow through), at the dead end of a single slip lane, this project certainly presented some challenges. The clients wanted a native Australian garden that attracted local fauna including space and plants to keep native bees. We used natural and recycled materials as much as possible with native spotted gum screening and bench seating, recycled railway sleeper staircase and recycled pav...ers to match the existing footpath. All plants used are native species that are shade tolerant and bird attracting where possible. All materials had to be brought in by hand, bucket and narrow wheel barrow down two sets of stairs. An existing timber retaining wall had to be demolished by hand and replaced. Despite this we loved working on this project. Always enjoy the opportunity to use native materials and plants and great clients make all the difference.

10.01.2022 The goal for these clients was to create a tropical resort feel at home. We utilised the existing bamboo and golden cane palms and introduced mass planting of tropicals such as ferns, palms and bromeliads. The shady side access meant using shade tolerant tropicals to create a jungle feel as you enter the back yard. We made the most of the sloping block by introducing new levels via timber retaining. This made possible a large level turf area off the pool and tiered paved pathway from the rear of the house. Both the clients and ourselves are very happy with how this project has turned out. Looking forward to ensuring this tropical paradise flourishes as we have taken on the on-going maintenance for the property.
