16.01.2022 Sue Thompson from the Royal Historical Society of Victoria - History Victoria Support Group met with Sue and I yesterday at the History Centre to offer advice and assistance. We are seeking direction into the future for the History Centre.

12.01.2022 Still desperately seeking ....an original photograph of Lancashire House built 1924. Formerly Ouyen Supermarket. A photograph of the building in its original state is sought to be part of the window display for the Ouyen Gym Project.

12.01.2022 This model of a Mallee Roller has been kindly donated by Life Member Doris Torpey and husband Geoff. Geoff and Doris constructed this horse drawn Mallee Roller to demonstrate how our pioneers rolled and flattened the Mallee scrub to prepare the land for cropping.

If intending to visit it is advisable to make an appointment either by ringing 0350921763 or emailing [email protected] The Centre will close for the Christmas break from 18th December 2020 and reopen again on the 29th January 2021

09.01.2022 In 1914 a one roomed wooden school was built on Glen Street Walpeup - State School no 3747 This recently donated photo shows the community planting the first tree on the site on 5th June 1914

01.01.2022 A very special visit from Ken Mustey of the Mildura RSL who presented the ODHGC with a precious collection containing every enlistee in World War I from along the Mallee Track. Ken has been researching the topic for the last 25 years and happily admits it is a bit of an obsession. His collection includes names and records along with photos of most enlistee and in some cases photos of overseas war graves.
