06.01.2022 And so it begins! The Year 7&8 debaters have tackled their first online debate, competing against Melbourne schools in the DAV Junior Competition. It was very close and the students received wonderful feedback, ready to implement it and grow for the next round. Congratulations to Kate Stone, Regan Eames and Maya Scott who WON as the negative team for Round 1. Maya was also awarded Speaker of the Day. The topic was ‘That schools should be able to enforce consequences for students who participate in strikes.’ It was a challenging start and all students rose to the task, working together to practice, prepare rebuttals and support each other through very trying technical issues.
