25.01.2022 Ouyen Golf report With the lack of rain continuing it was decided to take another golf trip up north for another Sunday stableford competition. This time the destination was the beautiful Mildura golf club resort with its challenging layout and testing bunkers and water hazards. Nine golfers boarded Munro’s bus for a fun day. It was also decided to have a combined stableford competition along with a single stableford competition. Three teams of three were formed for the c...ombined stableford competition. Roy Latta came out winner in the single stableford competition with a good score of 36, with Scott Brady coming in as runners up with 33. In the combined stableford comp Roy Latta, and Scott Brady also come home with the chocolates there teaming up with Liam Vine who had his first hit in a competition. It was also great to have Tim Vine come along for his first competition hit as well. With the dry conditions continuing it is hopeful this weeks Scheduled Johnson’s Memorial can take place on one of the Sunraysia golf course. See more

22.01.2022 Bus trip up to Red Cliffs tomorrow All members and new golfers welcome. Please meet at the club house at 10am. Come and play on some great fairways and Greens.

21.01.2022 Sunday saw the final round of the men’s club championship for season 2020. A good 14 mil of rain on Saturday which put a smile on the face of farmers slowed the course up and made the scoring a little more difficult, particularly for the smaller hitters among us. A very wet Saturday also makes it hard for some to back up on a Sunday too, as we saw from our club president, but that’s another story. Out on the course it was Scott Brady who went into the final round with 4 stro...ke lead. He managed to hold off Mike Walch who closed the gap by 2 strokes giving Scott his 6th win as A grade club champion. He shot 87 in the final round, giving him a total of 260, while Mike shot 85, giving him a total of 262. Third best was Deane Munro on 281. In B grade it was Jason Cross who made It his second B grade club championship win, with his first being way back in 1988. Jason went into the final round with a 5 stroke lead ahead of Rodney Poole. Both Jason and Rodney shot a 96, so that margin stayed the same. But Ryan Monaghan shot a 94 which slipped him into the runners up position. Final scores there were Jason Cross 278, Ryan Monaghan 282, Rodney Poole 283. In C grade it was Roy Latta who came out the winner with 3 good consistent rounds of golf. He had a 101 final round and total of 298, giving him the win by a comfortable 21 strokes ahead of runners up Trent Crook on 319. Next best was Todd Barker with 324. The Jk Monaghan was a very close affair with Roy Latta just getting up with the win there with a nett score of 221, one stroke ahead of Ryan Monaghan with 222. Next best were Jason Cross and Ricky Boyd both with 227. In Sunday’s day event Ryan Monaghan got the win in A grade with a score of 94-20-74, ahead on countback of Mike Walch with 85-11-74. In B grade Roy Latta got the win with 101-25-76, runners up was Peter Brady with 111-32-79. All up 25 players played on Sunday. This Sunday is the North West Ag anti cancer day. It is a 4 person Mixed Ambrose competition. Perfect for once or twice a year hitters to get yourself in a group for a fun day. With COVID restrictions in place teams must contact Scott Brady on 0409 072 688 to register. He will give you a tee off time. Good golfing to all. See more

12.01.2022 After a delayed start to the commencement of the golf season in Ouyen it was decided to get things started for the year with a bus trip up to Red Cliffs. In total just 7 players headed up the highway to take part in the stableford competition. Paul Dean got his season off to a good start coming away with a win with a score of 38, with Kevin Jones coming in as runners up with 31. This week a monthly medal is scheduled for Mother’s Day, and next week the captains v President day is scheduled. However with the course as dry as it is stay tuned for what will happen in the up coming weeks, and pray for rain.

12.01.2022 A terrific Sunday greeted golfers for what was originally planned as the North West Ag Ambrose day. Unfortunately with COVID rearing it’s ugly head the fundraising and social aspect part of the day couldn’t go ahead. However a more low key 4 person Ambrose competition was still held. A great turnout of 17 groups, 66 golfers all up turned out to play with some great scores posted. The group of Scott Brady, Brendan, Katie and Reg Dean came out winners with a an outstanding st...roke score of 5 under par 66, net score of 54.75. Runners up were the group of Don Hahnel, Esther Cua, Kieran and Amanda Hayter with 71 strokes, 57.125 net. Third were Tsharni Burns, Ash, Maddie and Ellen Morrish with a 81 strokes, 58.5 net. With COVID restrictions tightening no decision as yet has been made as to whether there will be golf this Sunday. So keep an eye for any announcement. Good golfing to all. All scores below See more

12.01.2022 AMBROSE DAY - Sunday 2nd August Due to the increased risk caused by COVID-19, North West Ag and the Ouyen Golf Club have decided to cancel the ‘North West Ag Anti-Cancer Day’ that was scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday 2nd August. We all need to play our part in stopping the spread, and a social day like the Anti-Cancer Day increases the risk of community transmission. However, the Golf Club still feels that we can safely run a low key Ambrose event held by the Golf Club, but it ...will not be a social event like the Anti-Cancer Day. To make sure we can run the event safely, and follow the Golf Australia / State Government social distancing guidelines, the Golf Club will be taking the following measures: - Shotgun starts are not allowed, and no ‘roll up play’. Therefore teams must enter prior to the day and be given a hit off time. Text or phone your teams entry to secretary Scott Brady 0409 072 688. - Golfers should arrive 15-30 minutes before their allocated hit off time (to help minimise congregations of people around the clubhouse). - Bring a pair of gloves (gardening or disposable) to touch the flags, rakes, get the ball out of hole. - Carts must only have one occupant unless they reside in the same household. - Due to the limit of 20 people in the clubhouse, there will NOT be a function after the golf - patrons must leave the facility immediately after completing their round. - Drinks will be available as per normal (clubhouse is licensed and can serve takeaways). - Results will be posted on our Facebook page, and prizes will be sent to winners. - There will be a few small prizes for the winners / runner up, but nothing major. A full list of the restrictions are on our website, http://www.ouyengolfclub.com.au/coronavirus The golf course is looking great, the weather forecast is great, and it’s probably going to be the last official round of the year. So we’re still expecting it to be a very enjoyable day, just not the social event that you’d normally expect.

11.01.2022 Golf for this Sunday is cancelled due to COVID restrictions... we will try again next week

10.01.2022 The second round of the club championships took place on Sunday with a strong west wind making it a little tough for some to get in the clubhouse with a good score. In conjunction with the club championship a daily competition was also held. In the daily competition Graham Wilton came out the winner in A grade with a score of 83-10-73, just ahead of Ryan Monaghan on countback who was runners up with a score of 92-20-73. In B grade Ricky Boyd had a win with a score of 92-22-...70 also winning on countback ahead of Roy Latta who scored 96-26-70. All up 30 golfers played on Sunday, a terrific role up. In the club championships A grade competition Scott Brady had a good day shooting 84 giving him a total score of 173. Round 1 leader Mike Walch had a 91 which drops him back into second place on 177, 4 strokes behind Scott. This has pretty much turned into a 2 horse race with next best being Deane Munro on 189. In B grade Jason Cross followed up his 91 last week with another 91 this week to still lead with a total of 182. Rodney Poole is 5 strokes behind after a 93 this week, and an eagle on the 18th, giving him a total of 187. Ryan Monaghan is just 1 stroke back on 188. In C grade Roy Latta is the new leader there with a 96 this week giving him a total score of 197, Trent Crook is sitting second with a 101 this week putting him on 205, 8 strokes behind. Next best is Jack Cook on 212. In the JK Monaghan Roy Latta is leader with a score of 145, 3 ahead of Jason Cross and Ryan Monaghan who are both on 148. So this week is the final round of the club championship, all 3 grades and the JK Monaghan are certainly up for grabs, it should be an exciting last round. For those of us out of contention there will still be a day competition. So get along and let’s see if we can keep the good numbers up. Good golfing to all. See more

10.01.2022 Perfect weather for golf today and thankfully some better scores today to reflect it for the 2nd day of the McGregor O’callaghan events. None better than Peter and Scott Brady who shot an impressive +8 after a +1 yesterday to give them an overall winning score of +9 in the McGregor event. Runners up were Ricky Boyd and Lorey Rogers who followed up yesterday’s +2 with a +6 today to give them a +8 score overall. In the O’callaghan event Peter and Scott Brady were also the victors with a stroke score of 160, runners up was Gary Rolla Burns and Paul Dean with 183. Full scores below.

08.01.2022 Keep an eye out for this Ouyen golfers. Was supposed to be this weekend.

05.01.2022 Here are the results from yesterday’s single stableford competition. A good win for visiting Anthony Morrish with a good score of 38, Gary (Rolla) Burns was runners up with 32. Roy Latta and Ricky Boyd were third best with both scoring 31. Next week is the first round of the club championships, the next 2 rounds are the 2 following Sunday’s after that. Reminder you have to be a financial member to be eligible to win this. Also of course you have to play all 3 weeks, however there will be single events on each day, which all players are eligible to win.

04.01.2022 Cold grey skies and wet grass after overnight rain made scoring a tough for the first round of the club championships and the JK Monaghan event on Sunday. A great field of 27 golfers tee’d up for the first round, and Sunday’s day competition. Deane Munro won the day competition in A grade with a score of 88-15-73, runners up was Jason Cross with 91-17-74. In B grade Todd Barker had a win with a score of 98-28-70, runners up there was Trent Crook with 100-27-73. In the club c...hampionship A grade competition Mike Walch is leading after the first round with a scratch score of 86, 2 ahead of Deane Munro with 88, while Scott Brady sits a further shot behind on 89. In B grade Jason Cross is leading with a score of 91, 3 ahead of Rodney Poole on 94, with Ryan Monaghan another stroke back on 95. C grade the leader is Todd Barker who shot 98, next is Trent Crook who shot 100, then Roy Latta a further shot back on 101. In the JK Monaghan handicap event Todd Barker is the leader after round 1 with a handicap score of 70, next is Deane Munro and Trent Crook both with a score of 73, than Jason Cross on 74. So this Sunday is round 2 of the club championships, also another single day event, so if you can’t get along to all 3 Sunday’s there is still the single day event. Good golfing to all. See more
