11.01.2022 Brand New Classes for 2018! OPAA is very excited to offer Dance classes next year for all new and returning students. With 2 classes on offer, we cater for all different skill levels and ages. Our Dance Style and Dance Technique classes will offer students a look into the wonderful world of dance to be applied in performance. ... Dance Technique offers students the opportunity to learn different focused techniques safely and correctly. With different skills being taught throughout the course of the year, they will be useful when applying them to choreography. Dance Style is focused on applying the knowledge of skills and technique to choreography. The aim of this class is not to teach the dancers specific skills, but rather how to piece them together in combinations along with the key components of dance, such as, space, time and dynamics to suit a particular style. Students will be introduced to differet dance genres including jazz, Broadway, tap and lyrical throughout the year. Group Singing and Performance Students will work on songs, voice techniques, stage craft and improvement of vocal performance skills in a small group setting. They will work together to learn harmony and ensemble singing and have weekly in - class performances.
