20.01.2022 Well, this is a very long overdue post. As many of you will already know, after 15 wonderful years, I have wound down my business. In 2015 I started putting plans in motion for a change of life direction and we did our last function 2 years ago. The reason it has taken 2 years to acknowledge this change is that although excited for a new career, I have been reluctant to let go of this wonderful thing I had built. I am very proud to have, with the help of wonderful team member...s over the years, offer professional and personalised service in the entertainment industry. There are so many people to thank in the journey to making Overload the thriving business it has been. Firstly our wonderful clients - the people who trusted us with our weddings and special events and the venues who supported us and gave us the space to create amazing nights. The patrons who came out to all our club and karaoke gigs. All the amazing DJs, MCs and Karaoke hosts who have worked with me over the years (Special thanks to Beck & Krystal who were long term and much loved DJs). I'm also grateful to the other suppliers who support and recommended us - thank you so much for your support. This includes some of the businesses in the entertainment industry. The event industry is very challenging for small to business owners. One of the things that really helps the industry as a whole is people like Dave Parker, Nathan McGuire, Marty McFadden, Luke Boyton, Michael Desira, Dorian Taylor (just to name a few - I hope I haven't missed anyone) are all people who, despite being competitors in the industry know, that when we help and support each other, we all win - ourselves, our clients, and the reputation of our industry. Lastly, my heart goes out to the beautiful suppliers I have worked with over the years whose businesses have taken a huge hit this year. I was so impressed by the quality suppliers who I know were hit hard (especially before there was any financial support in place) and who showed incredible grace in ensuring their clients were able to rebook at a later date without losing their deposits. These suppliers made this choice knowing they would lose an entire year's income as the work must be done on a specific date. I'm still happy for anyone one to reach out to me if you want those recommendations for those businesses who provide amazing service and in tough times put their clients' needs over their own. Thanks again to everyone for all the support - I hope you all stay in touch.
