21.01.2022 Cycling with the kids on a Sunday afternoon, on the way to work in the morning or for keeping fit - 400,000 Western Australians ride a bike each week The number of people cycling in WA continues to grow, with a survey showing an extra 77,000 were riding in 2020. That’s why Zak Kirkup and the Liberals will deliver a comprehensive $81.3 million plan supporting the growth of cycling across WA for the daily commute, recreation, tourism and fitness.... Our plan will also help keep Western Australians safe on our shared paths and trails by: Teaching every primary school student important safety skills Widening shared paths that are used by pedestrians and cyclists Connecting major gaps along our freeways and train lines so cyclists can ride safely Investing in off-road trails, particularly in our regions, for local tourism and WA mountain bikers Learn more https://www.waliberal.org.au//80-million-plan-to-support-/

18.01.2022 Very happy to have this Greenbatch collection point here in the heart of Cockburn. Remember, Greenbatch collection points also take items that aren’t eligible for a refund but should still be recycled - such as your large milk bottles, strawberry punnets etc.* So even if you return your refundable Containers for Change items elsewhere, Greenbatch are the only option for those additional plastics. ... *Any plastic container with a #1 or #2 in the recycling logo. #owenmulder4cockburn

18.01.2022 An early start, a perfect start. Exercise really helps my mental wellbeing. And the research backs that up. If you’re in a position to commit - or recommit - to exercise, I strongly encourage you to do so. And Cockburn has so many beautiful running tracks, that celebrate our wetlands and waves. ... See you out there! #owenmulder4cockburn

10.01.2022 Congratulations to the City of Cockburn, WA Police and the Coastal Motorcycle Club on the official launch today of the successful XLR8 Motocross Program at the Coastal Motorcycle Club Henderson. The program targets at-risk youth aged 14-18 and incentivises the youth to achieve goals around improved school attendance, reduced antisocial behaviour and reduced offending. It’s been running for some time already, and is achieving great outcomes. Was great to see so many organisations represented at the launch working together to deliver this awesome program.

05.01.2022 Last night, as part of this week’s NAIDOC events, Cockburn Libraries hosted Aboriginal author Stephen Kinnane. Kinnane’s award-winning book Shadow Lines, first published in 2003, is a biography of his maternal grandparents, Mirriwoong woman Jessie Argyle and Englishman Edward Smith. It was valuable to hear further context to the book from Stephen. I’m halfway through Shadow Lines, and I’m learning a lot.... #owenmulder4cockburn
