12.01.2022 South Australia Skilled Migration program - allocation update Below is a detailed list of all state nomination requirements. Minimum nomination requirements... 1. Applicants must meet Home Affairs minimum requirements for age, English levels and Points, and 2. Applicants must nominate an occupation eligible for a 190 or 491 nomination on the Skilled Migration Occupation List and have a valid and positive Skills Assessment for that occupation, and 3. Applicants must be currently working in South Australia for at least the last 3 months in their nominated or closely related occupation, for at least 20 hours per week or 40 hours per fortnight. The work experience must be undertaken post-qualification completion and paid at the appropriate rate for the skill level. 4. The following applicants do not have to meet the work experience requirement listed above: International graduates of South Australian education institutions who have completed a PhD or Masters by Research. Preferred requirements:- In addition to the mandatory requirements listed above, applicants who meet the following conditions will have a better chance of being invited to submit an application. 1. Applicants with Proficient English overall or higher 2. Applicants with at least 90 Points in your Expression of Interest (including state-nomination points) 3. Applicants who are currently working in South Australia for at least the last 12 months in their nominated or closely related occupation and claiming Points for Australian work experience 4. Applicants who are currently living and working in outer regional South Australia. 5. Applicants who meet the critical skills listed here for Commonwealth Government’s Travel Exemption Requirements Important information South Australia’s 190 and 491 visa nominations are subject to a quota. South Australia reserves the right to revise nomination eligibility criteria for these visa subclasses without notice. The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs has identified critical sectors to support Australia’s COVID-19 public health response and economic recovery. 07.01.2022 Victoria’s skilled visa nomination program (subclass 190 and 491) reopens on 5 January 2021 Victoria’s full 2020-21 skilled visa nomination program (subclasses 190 and 491) will re-open at 10am AEDT on Tuesday, 5 January 2021. Like the interim program, the full program responds to challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, with a focus on Victoria’s health response and economic recovery.... Requirements for Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190): You must: Be currently living in Victoria Be currently employed (and have worked in Victoria for a minimum of 6 months) using skills in a health or medical research that support Victoria's economic recovery and health response Have obtained a suitable skills assessment for your occupation Have not yet turned age 45 Have achieved the required points test score Hust demonstrate at least a competent English level Meet all other visa nomination eligibility requirements. Requirements for Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 491) You must: Be currently living in regional Victoria Be currently (and have worked in regional Victoria for a minimum 3 months of employment) Work in a highly-skilled occupation in health, medical research, life sciences, agri-food or digital sectors which supports Victoria's economic recovery and/or health response. 06.01.2022 International graduates studying in a regional area From 2021, Temporary Graduate visa (TGV) holders (post-study workstream) who have graduated from a regional educational institution and have lived in regional Australia on their first TGV will be eligible for a second TGV. Those eligible for a second TGV will be required to remain in a regional area for the duration of their new visa. Eligibility will include international students who studied at a regional campus of a metro...politan university. International graduates who have studied and lived in Category 2 will be eligible for an additional year on a second Temporary Graduate visa. International graduates who have studied and lived in Category 3 will be eligible for an additional 2 years on a second Temporary Graduate visa. The initiative will provide an additional incentive for international students to study at a regional institution and to live in regional areas post-study, boosting diversity and prosperity in regional Australia. At the same time, it will help ease growing infrastructure pressures in our major cities. There is no change to Student visas. This option is available as an initiative for international students to study and live in regional Australia Eligible regional areas The regional definition is comprised of the following 3 categories: Category 1 ‘Major Cities’ of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane do not receive any regional incentives Category 2 ‘Cities and Major Regional Centres’ of Perth, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Newcastle/Lake Macquarie, Wollongong/Illawarra, Geelong and Hobart Category 3 ‘Regional Centres and Other Regional Areas’ The regional definition offers regional incentives for skilled migrants who migrate to locations classified as Category 2 ‘Cities and Major Regional Centres’ or Category 3 ‘Regional Centres and Other Regional Areas’.
