21.01.2022 The recent Federal Government 'Closing the Gap' report reveals that Aboriginal Australians, in general, are 4 times more likely than non-Aboriginal Australians ...to have Type 2 diabetes and 3 times more likely to have chronic kidney disease. At age 55-64, death rates for both diseases are 10 times as high for Aboriginal people, as those for non-Aboriginal people. The East Arnhem region needs particular attention, as it suffers the worst death rate for preventable diseases in all of Australia. We want to see our children be healthy, we want those that are sick to get well, we don’t want more people to end up on dialysis, or with heart disease, and diabetes. There is too much death and sickness here Hope For Health is a pathway to real health. We have tried walking this path and it has proven true for us and given us self-determination for better living and lifestyle, living culture.
