19.01.2022 Jazmyn was in intensive care for five days and in hospital for five weeks, undergoing 15 painful skin grafts. In the last year, shes had scar release surgery on her leg, a procedure that removes scar tissue to release the skin tightness. Her legs and feet hurt every day and she experiences debilitating headaches, Sarah said. At times, the family have found it hard to cope with the ongoing effects of meningococcal disease on Jazmyns health. Living in Renmark means Sarah an...d Jazmyn must travel for three hours to Adelaide for hospital appointments, and Jazmyns sisters miss them when theyre away from home for long periods of time. Sarah says Jazmyns confidence has increased since being part of the I Wont Give Up series, and her strength and fierce determination will serve her well into the future. We hope her story will inspire others and that whatever the outcome, theres great possibility and joy to simply survive.

18.01.2022 Nice work, Queensland! Because of your great work in following good hygiene practices, socially distancing and getting the flu shot, flu numbers this year are s...ignificantly lower than what they have been in the last five flu seasons and are 84% lower than this time last year! Research suggests that Queenslanders have greatly improved their hygiene practices, which has helped to stop the spread of flu in our community.

09.01.2022 We touch many common surfaces & objects every day, often without noticing. This increases the risk of spreading COVID-19, germs & other bacteria. If someone has... COVID-19 and droplets from their cough or sneeze land on a surface, other people can become infected if they touch this and then touch their eyes, nose or mouth. That’s why it is so important when you’re out and about to: wipe down and disinfect surfaces before and after use, if possible avoid touching your face wash or sanitise your hands often, including before eating, wash or sanitise your hands again when you get home. Look out for: money, countertops, door handles, elevator buttons, hand rails, keyboards, petrol pumps and shopping trolleys. 07.01.2022 24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Twenty-four-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a way of measuring and managing high blood pressure (hypertension). Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring allows many blood pressure (BP) readings to be recorded over a 24-hour period, whether the patient is awake or asleep. Usually, only one or two readings are taken during a doctors visit. However, ambulatory BP monitoring yields many readings over a continuous period. I...n most cases, with ambulatory BP monitors, readings are taken every 20 to 30 minutes during the day and every hour at night. The heart rate can also be measured at the same time. Multiple BP readings can be averaged over the 24-hour period to obtain the mean or average BP. Variations in BP and heart rate, the BP distribution pattern, and other statistics can be calculated. Thus, the doctor can assess and treat your hypertension in more accurate manner. RING FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO DISCUSS YOUR OPTIONS WITH ONE OF OUR DOCTORS. See more
