23.01.2022 Congratulations to OGC member Micheal Hinchliffe who aced the 5th Hole in today's Ekka Holiday competition!1 Michael achieved his first ever Hole-In-One having played golf on and off for 24 years. Despite playing partners claiming the ball must of been short or long, Michael perfectly hit 7-iron found the hole. Well done Michael.

20.01.2022 Big day at Oxley GC today wind gust recorded over 45km/h! . Thanks to ALM for sponsoring todays mens event. Congratulations to Marco Marabini who def. Michael Austen in the final of the Bert Norris Matchplay Trophy . After 4 weeks of qualifying and elimination matchpaly Marco prevailed winning 3 & 2. The crazy conditions also proved difficult for the first round of the Ladies Club Championship. ... Finally, a nice turn out to our on course junior clinic which saw 18 of our youngest golfers play 6 holes in a team format followed by a sausage sizzle.

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Oxley Golf Club Inc. staff Tim Swann, Andrew Duffin, James King along with member Paul Murray who participated in the Cancer Council Australia's - The Longest Day. The Oxley Fast Fore team raised over $6,600 completing 72 Holes of Golf on Tuesday 17th December. The national campaign has raised over $1.2 million! Teeing off at 4:30am the team had a 20min intermission between the first and final 36 holes with the final putt holed at 6:15pm. ... Members Amanda Murray and Wayne Dawson supported the team the whole way, while several came out to watch throughout the day. Big thank you to all the members for their kind donations and support. (Note: Incredibly Andrew Duffin finished -5 for the 4 rounds. Shooting -2 in the final round - ridiculous!)

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Wayne Robins who had a HOLE IN ONE while playing the 3rd Hole today. Playing with his son Daniel, Wayne hit a 5 rescue to arguably one of the trickiest pin positions on the 3rd green. His golf ball carried the bunker on the right hand side before nestling into the hole.... Wayne who is a long serving member of Oxley Golf Club, has had two Holes In One while son Daniel is still waiting,

12.01.2022 OXLEY GOLF CLUB OPEN AGAIN TOMORROW MORNING - we look forward to seeing you! The Queensland government has announced that eased restrictions for the Greater Brisbane area will be in place from 6pm 11 January to 1am 22 January which includes OGC. The easing of restrictions allows the playing of Golf to revert back to the restrictions that were in place prior to The Greater Brisbane 3-Day Lockdown that commenced on January 8, some restrictions will still apply to the Clubhouse ...and Facilities for 10 days until 1am on Friday, 22 January. Restrictions on Clubhouse and Facility Operations include: (the following restrictions will apply until 1:00am on Friday, 22 January 2021). Masks do not need to be worn by patrons attending the Club and Facilities or playing golf. The reason for this is because we are collecting contract tracing information from members and guests; Masks must be worn by face to face hospitality staff, this includes pro shop staff. This will not apply to back of house staff; Members and guests must again be seated while eating and drinking and there is to be no dancing, except at weddings. Members and guests may still approach the bar and ATM etc and generally move about the Club and facility to enter and exit, use the bathroom etc., Internally, the Club must revert to the one person per four square meter rule; and Externally, the Club can continue with the existing one person per two square meter rule Playing golf: Golf is to be played under the same restrictions that were in place prior to the Brisbane 3-Day Lockdown which is in line with the Industry COVID Safe Plan for Outdoor Team Sports and Golf Australia Covid-19 Safe Plan Guidance Effective 11th January 2021. This includes; 1. play in groups of 4 2. hold shotgun & multi-tee starts 3. have two people per cart - The Queensland Government strongly recommends you wear a mask when outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people, as such it is recommended that face mask are worn if you are sharing a motorised Golf Cart. If you have any symptoms at all, please do not attend the club and get tested immediately and quarantine at home until you receive a negative result. Contact Tracing all members and guests attending the club (playing golf or at the bar) MUST sign in electronically to ensure we comply with legislated contact tracing requirements. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide advice as appropriate.

05.01.2022 Course Update | Oxley Golf Club The course has re-opened after receiving minimal rainfall throughout the day. The course had in excess of 100mm yesterday but has held up surprisingly well.... Saturdays Members competition will be a Single Stableford off the White Markers and Red Markers. The Jack McKay Memorial has been postponed. Bunkers will be out of play indefinitely. Motorised carts will be back on the course tomorrow with conditions remaining the same. Should there be rainfall overnight that decision will be reassessed. Photos from the rain below.

03.01.2022 Update - Easing of Greater Brisbane Restrictions - Face Masks Further to our e-mail yesterday and again this afternoon, we have just received an update from Queensland Health regarding the easing of restrictions for the Greater Brisbane Area, specifically around the use of face masks: Face masks... Individuals must carry a face mask at all times Individuals must wear a face mask covering their mouth and nose at all times when in indoor spaces i.e. walking through a Clubhouse, Pro Shop, doing Score Card return (if inside), locker room etc. Individuals are not required to wear a face mask when indoors and are seated and eating or drinking. Individuals must wear a face mask outdoor when it is not possible to physically distance i.e. sharing a golf cart. Individuals are not required to wear a face mask when outdoors and are able to physically distance i.e. when playing golf. Masks must be worn by face-to-face hospitality staff, this includes pro shop staff. This will not apply to back of house staff Please note, a person who removes their face mask must resume wearing the face mask as soon as practicable after the circumstance ends. We will keep you informed on any further changes as we become aware of them and thank you in advance for adhering to the restrictions imposed on our club and the community.
