Lucky the boys found this damaged deep water line hanging by a thread yesterday else we would have lost an entire line of stock in the next storm.

13.01.2022 1 0 Y E A R S A G O We commenced a project to create an integrated tourist attraction on a working oyster farm in American River. In 2014, we completed Stage 1 which was to build a processing room in this space at the back of the existing shop premises. We use this space for oyster shucking, value-adding, storage of our produce and it resulted in a small dining space being created in the front of section of the shop and a small office area...game-changer!

10.01.2022 H A P P Y 1 0 T H B I R T H D A Y T O U S ! 10 years ago our farm was hit by a 'one in 30 year storm' the locals told us. On July 10 it blew from the East and ravaged our fully stocked farm. Oyster bags and trays washed up along the shoreline for weeks. So...we opened a shop across the road from the farm to survive by selling what little stock we had left direct to the public. The old Crafty Fisherman building had been empty for at least 8 years but with a lick of paint and a tidy up, we managed to open The Oyster Farm Shop in October 2010. With a sea-change from IT to oyster farming just two years prior, we then ''pivoted' to retail/hospitality/tourism - the learning curve was HUGE!
