25.01.2022 Kimchi Stew with Homemade Kimchi. Been wanting to try making Kimchi Stew for a while. It always look so delicious in those Korean dramas. Since I had made some kimchi over the weekend, its time to make so Kimchi Stew.... It turned out really good. The kids love it. The girl ate 2 servings. And its not difficult. Just marinate the pork rasher slices with soy sauce and fish sauce. Stirfry the kimchi a little. Then, cook everything, pork slices, stirfried kimchi, tofu, mushroom slices, chopped onions, garlic, some womboks, and the seasoning, all in one pot, with a cup or 2 of water. Simmer till the pork slices are well-cooked and smells good. And bon appetit! For seasoning, mixture 1 1/2 tbsp of Korean chili flakes, 1 tbsp of fish sauce, 1 tsp of Korean anchovy stock powder, sprinkle of ground black pepper. 23.01.2022 Yesterday husband went to ALDI, in Balwyn North, and couldnt find that the Confidence 3ply 24pk, which worked out to be $0.34 per roll. But saw Confidence 3ply Double Length 8pk at $6.79. Since its Double Length, which equivalent to 16pk, about $0.43 per roll. A little pricey compare to the 3ply 24pk.... 21.01.2022 It's always good to have a First Aide Kit ready at home, in your car or office. At least a bacis one. Decided to get one for our home from ALDI when i saw them last week. It's only $12.99. A good First Aide Kit is not cheap but important to have. Do check out the St. John Home First Aide Kit.... Last month i did the 2 days St John First Aide Training Course which cost $249. A requirement for my work. It was an eye opener as i learned the importance of being a first aider and what to do during emergency. Also learned about CPR and defibrillator. I bought one tub to try. Texture runny, smooth and very nutty, particularly Brazil Nut. Not very sweet. Good for crumpet or pancake. If u want it sweeter, can add a bit condensed milk. I will try to add some to my oat porridge tomorrow. I have been adding almond meal to my oat porridge every morning. 20.01.2022 Lacura Caviar Illumination Eye Mousse 15ml, $14.99 @aldiaustralia $99.93 per 100ml. Made in Germany. Managed to get some from ALDI Box Hill 2 weeks ago. And i decided to give it another try on my very puffy eyes.... Actually bought a few to test for the next couple of months. These day, Im quite generous with it. Use 2 to 3 times a day. And i store mine in the fridge. So it feels cooling and nice when applied on my puffy eyes. One 15ml can last about a month if you use it sparingly. $15 for 15ml, its abit pricey. For caviar extract? Can our skin actually absorb caviar extract? I wonder. Anyway, lets wait and see. The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG is definitely cheaper, $12.70 for 30ml, though without caviar extract. And its very easy to get online. I dont normally buy eye cream or mousse except a few occasions. One of them was The Ordinary Caffiene Solution. If you are keen to try the Eye Mousse, try your local ALDI. ALDI Box Hill still have some stocks when I visited them on Thursday. I tried this eye mousse 2 years ago. It didnt leave me any significant impression, and it was very difficult to get even one, from ALDI during special buy. However, you can definitely find them on eBay with at least 100% markup on the prices. A big ripoff. Not worth it. In this case, I reckon you try The Ordinary Caffeine Solution. Or Lacura Revive Hyaluronic Gel, only $9.99 for 30ml at ALDI. I have been using this for a year. I like how it feels on my face and its good for hydration. Recipe for kimchi omelette, 5 large eggs, 100ml milk, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp of light soy sauce, a few drops of fish sauce(optional) and most importantly 3 to 4 tbsp of chopped kimchi. 15.01.2022 Lazy mums simple Grilled Drumstick Fillets. My daughters favourite, especially the spicy ones. Just marinate the boneless drumstick fillets with dark soy sauce, sweet soy sauce and grounded black pepper orwhite pepper powder, overnight.... Poke the fillets with fork so that the marinade can penetrate the fillets as the dark soy sauce and sweet soy sauce marinade can be a bit thick. To add spiciness to the marinated fillets, I usually make my own spicy mixture and spread it on the fillets before grilling. For the mixture: 1 to 2 Tbsp Korean Chili Flakes 1 to 2 tsp Korean Anchocy Stock Powder 2 to 3 Tbsp of Fish Sauce 1/4 chopped onions 1 Tbsp minced garlic 1/4 tsp chopped ginger Chopped spring onions (optional) 1/2 tsp Tumeric Powder Pinch of salt (optional), as the marinade may be enough. Spread the mixture on the top side of the fillets. Grill the fillets for about 30 to 40 min at 180C. We like them abit charred on the edge. Also, to be sure the fillets are properly cooked inside out. Serve with rice, soup noodles or in sandwiches. I like it with rice and kimchi. My husband and my son like in the soup noodles while my girl like them in her sandwiches. I love the Hyaluronic Gel the most and used to the tautness. Feel my skin firmer after use. Currently on my 3rd bottle. Use Night Elixir only on my forehead to reduce the frowning lines. Still testing out. Express Lift: Serum 30ml, Facial Mask. The serum still cause some skin peeling and I dont use it regularly. But the mask is pretty good and skin feel lifted after use. Caviar Illumination, $29.99, Christmas Boxset: Eye Mousse 15ml, Day Cream SPF 15 50ml, Night Cream 50ml. The day cream and night cream are very moisturising. Sometimes too moist and cause breakouts. For facial cleansing, I just use diluted apple cider, with water. 1 part apple cider with 2 parts water. Only once a day, for almost a year. With moisturiser after cleansing. It reduces breakouts. In Malaysia, pineapple (jam) tart is a tradition, particularly Lunar New Year and Ramadan.... Ppl either buy or homemade. I like homemaking them, long process though, because my kids and husband love them. And i love to see their appreciative smile. Also, a way to bond with my girl as she is not only love eating them but help making them too. You can find these pineapple (jam) tarts sold in tubs in asian groceries store. At Tang, its about $23 per tub. But i prefer making my own rather paying $23 per tub, which will most likely emptied within a day or 2. What about u? The sugar content per serving increased from 19.5g to 22.1g. It means more sugar less cranberries. Is it significant to you as consumer? 01.01.2022 ALDI just launched their new LACURA YOU range last Saturday. THE BASE, the 50ml DAY Moisturiser and the 50ml Night Moisturiser. $5.99 each. Thick and moist. Smell good too. THE BOOSTER Serums 3ml: Vitamin C, Vitamin A (Retinol), Vitamin E, Collagen or Hyaluronic Acid. $7.99 each. Very sticky texture.... You can mix THE BOOSTER with the moisturiser according to your preference. I only bought two of them to try out, the Night Moisturiser and Vit C Serum. I experimented the Vit C Serum with my LACURA Hyaluronic Gel. I did some research before hand, and found that its alright to mix Vitamin C with Hyaluronic Acid. I love the LACURA Hyaluronic Gel and have been using day and night generously for 4 months. Now, I add a tiny drop of the very sticky Vitamin C Serum to the Hyaluronic Gel. They mixed well.
