17.01.2022 We’ve all watched in anguish and pain as the residents of 9 towers in Flemington and North Melbourne get reduced to detainees in their own homes. It has been equally heartwarming to see the community, led by African Australians rally together to work with the detained residents to assist where the authorities (government bodies) failed amidst this health pandemic. #Repost @w_____t_________ with @get_repost... (1/3) Although we’re stoked to hear the news about the release of 8 of the 9 towers. We recognise that it’s imperative that the residents voices don’t get drowned out and forgotten in the midst of it all. Earlier today the residents we’ve been speaking and engaging with wrote an open letter to the @danielandrewsmp Government, a letter that they’ve asked us to share with the public. After the news came out, they messaged and urged us to still go ahead with sharing this letter. This is us honouring their wish and standing firm in our solidarity with them. [Image Description] Image 1: OPEN LETTER FROM FLEMINGTON ESTATE RESIDENTS In small fonts on the side: SE Mutual aid stands in solidarity Image 2: We write this acknowledging that we are only speaking as one collective voice inside one certain building within the Flemington estate! Firstly, thank you to all those who have stood with us throughout this time without any hidden political agenda. All those who’ve volunteered their time and efforts since hearing of the 9 BLOCKS TOTAL LOCKDOWN! We as the people of Flemington, have never disagreed with a lockdown, in fact we completely understand that we are in times of public health emergency, certain measures have to be taken, and it’s on everyone to make sure they do their part within this crisis. We deeply care about our families and our community’s health and wellbeing in these times. However, what we don’t understand is the way this very specific lockdown has been handled! The lack of proper management, thought or care for the people it’s affected is incredibly evident. We have been used, disregarded, ignored, treated as if we ourselves aren’t capable of thought, all for the sake of making us an example. The failure of this government

14.01.2022 Fam join our #boss as she chats with @joelletheauthor about #racism that continues to rule within the white Australian media. 09.01.2022 We are very proud of you Kevin Kapeke. We support you and are excited to watch you represent us #Repost @officialkev_k with @get_repost ... [ campaign portrait] If you had asked me what I’d be doing in spring of 2020 a year ago, this is NOT what I’d have told you, but this is where life has led me. I lost my job this year. The plans I had for 2020 went out the window quicker than a mosquito when you light up a mosquito coil (if you know you know). However here I am, at the tail end of 2020, running for Hume City Council with a plan. This is a space that as a man of colour is very foreign to me and I know I need a lot of support. Young people have been disproportionately affected by this pandemic. It’s our future at stake. Yet we are not represented at the decision making table. This election is for us. There is a record number of young people (of colour too!) running for local government this year. Most of us, like me, don’t have rich families and deep pockets, most of us don’t have the backing of major well known influential people. I need your help. I have linked a gofundme in my bio. This money will help me mail out material to everyone in this ward (as with the restrictions we aren’t allowed to walk about door-knocking). It will help me use social media to reach every corner of this area from as far north as Donnybrook to as far south as Roxburgh Park. No amount is too little. There are thousands of people who live here but don’t know about Council or the very important role it plays, especially now. Help me to engage them Let’s do this and change our own future! #OneOfUs #kevinforhume #anewperspective #oatv #ozafricantv #blackboymagic

02.01.2022 We are sad that C31 Melbourne and Geelong will have it’s finally broadcast day on Tuesday. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Australian history by writing our narrative in our own words through C31.

01.01.2022 What a shame. Thank you C31 Melbourne and Geelong for an opportunity for us to share our stories in our own words. Well done to everyone who’s been working tirelessly to support the diverse communities that make up our society.
